Well The good news and Bad news came as a Double whammy today.

Good News is the Truck can be fixed, lol I walked the lot looking for a New "KW" Truck My DM sent the message to Darrin and got no response. no Biggie I will be there in the morning when they all come in, I did make some money today running trailers around and looks like I might get the chance to go snag a bunch from Denver in the Morning. To bad I do not have doubles and triple and they do not have the means to hook doubles, lol kill two birds with one stone.
Bad news Cummins Tech (who by the way is one of the hardest working I have ever met guy Named Mike) pulled the entire top half of my Motor down, the head was on his truck in about 3 hours. He will be taking it to his shop in the AM to pressure test it for a cracked head, if it is not cracked I will most likely be in a new truck.
I might just take Foxfire up on that suggestion to go meet the two big Guns in person whats the worst that can happen?
I know it was extremely unnerving to walk into dispatch today, i can remember when the entire Operations department both DM's and Load planners were one BIG happy group of people. Now well it is depressing to walk in there, I did get to See Patti Winters smile and she was #### near back to being her "old self" for a time there. That was cool to see Patti is a great person and I am trying to light a fire under her like she had an Year Ago ( Patti I know you are reading this so Know This from the source, YOU are good at what you do, just bring back the Happy Patti, the smart ### that made everyone else smile PLEASE.) There was a time when The Ladies in Operations laughed and giggled but they had a passion for the industry and I guess through all the changes and lack of empowerment most of the people in the office have lost that "love" of the industry. Some still have it but seem to be reserved anymore, That to me is a Shame as This company has very serious potential to be a powerful and respected force in the industry.
I hope that with the latest changes that the upper Management will after reading this understand that Happy Office Staff who are on fire to be the best, are more likely to Empower the drivers who are here, and they work harder to be better at their jobs. What amazes me is that NO Matter what College you go to, how long you have been in management if you forget what drives this company and that a company with Low MORALE, Productivity is going to suffer the repercussions.
Now is the time to Turn things around to but the fire back in the people who have worked in the office for a long time. A Positive empowerment is what motivates the masses, a Negative tone, and Negative reinforcement to the Masses, cause a lack of Desire, and in the end cause's the great people to be just good people. A manager is only as good as the people he Empowers to be better, and If you have a negative impact on your people then they Have a Negative impact on the money makers. Which in this case happens to be the Drivers, who are the Driving force behind JBS Carriers, it seems to me Many people have forgotten that Theory, and think that Drivers Need them. Wrong answer If you do not think that Drivers talk well HELLO Sally.
Being in touch with the reality of the Drivers is simple, We only want a few things, 1) Decent Equipment ( which we have)
    2) To make great money through Great Miles
    3) No Lies No BS
    4) An Operations department that works as a team From one end to the OTHER.
    5) Management WHO understands that If you want to keep drivers you have to be able to to the top 4 things first. And no matter how you scramble the numbers Your Best source for new Driver is HAPPY drivers who are Employee's now.
Just little food for thought considering I figured out how many of the folks in the office read this thing. Maybe now that it is in Black and White someone will read it and it will sink in. What we have done for the last 12 months has not worked, the NUMBERS do not lie.

This is written completely of my Own Opinion, and in no way reflects that of any driver or any employee other than myself, This is simply my expression of my feelings no the current status of what I have seen. No person or persons have in any way influenced my Opinion. If there is any questions everyone seems to know who "Doc Holiday" is better than Mark Sawyer. I hide behind nothing and stand behind all I have said as it is my perception and Opinion. God Bless the USA and Freedom of Speech.

Those loads out of cactus go to other carriers. Seeing that I will be delivering to Grand island and leaving there to pick up a Cargil load that has horrible delivery times on them, and no changing because those are wal mart loads. Driver getting 1100 miles for the week and -300 that goes on this check. Hmmm wonder why people aren't chipper at the office

Funny how dispatcher called me to see if I accepted the pallet load, but wouldn't say a thing when she put me on that 850 mile fuel wasting load.

Hmmm Driver is finishing his 34 hr reset. Fresh 70 hrs not going home till next week lets give him this pallet load and cargil load that doesn't deliver till saturday. He did close to 4,000mi last week you know he make .40 cents a mile I'm sure thats enough to pay his bills or if we give him this load he won't be able to take time off after being out for 5weeks..

(Which now I can't. So if I beg my dispatcher if I can get ahold of them to get me by the house so I can move my motorcyle into the garage of the new place.) Then I can get back on the road until I can afford to spend some time at home. I thank God my wife is an RN, and I haven't been able to save up for that bankruptcy lawyer yet.

Can't wait to get the message telling us we can't use the 300 dollars for personal business when they only run u 1100 miles for the week. LOL

Hey Doc when you in the office can you check for pulse's.

    Scooby,
Best way to put this is we are a Common Carrier owned by a Meat company, we bid on loads just like the rest of the carriers and since last September we have hauled less JBS Meat loads than ever, due to some over educated bureaucratic BS, There has to be a definitive decision, either you Haul to appease the Corporation that owns you, and make less profit, or YOU make more profit. Here is the Kicker, The Pay Per Mile might be more on some loads, BUT 20% of nothing Beats NO MILES. There is some ### backwards thinking in the Office. We haul cheap and heavy Long miles crappy brokers, yet we won't haul our own beef, Makes no sense, If you haul 1 crap load to get 10 good loads out of Corporate, then you do what you have to, to keep your drivers rolling. Someone in there forgot that there is a 1700.00 a month payment EVERYMONTH on these trucks, not to mention that Each truck has to PAY for 2.25 trailer payments, and OH yea the people in the office want to get paid too..

So sit the trucks some more Making no money is more sensible than Hauling freight with a lower profit and making some money. Like I said there is an over-educated thought process, Hell I have an 8th grade education and I can do the math, and I have OFFERED to do the JOB for free for 90 days lol, now how can that be a bad thing lol.
