I was amused by his old post that said its nearly impossible to run 2500 miles a week on flat bed without being ilegal or lucky in the freight lanes.

Ok let's see Josh (ybfjax) had 4 years in the military as well as a 4 year masters degree in business, and you say he didn't pass mavericks test. The test wasn't the reason he didn't stay at maverick. His personality just didn't fit them. He like to ask questions to things he didn't know. ( which that's what you should do ) Also they didn't like the questions he was asking them in regards to maverick and the union. So they parted ways. I trained him at BTC. He was very capable of passing their test. He is not however in trucking , and has since his last post started his own business. Which has been very successful up to this point for the last few years. I haven't talked to him for some time now because his business takes him out of the country for extended amount of time. Also a lot of his post as was done during the economy screw up that we all went through. That is the only time in 6 years that I have been here that we halted the training program. During that time 2500 miles was hard to come by let alone do it legal. 2500 miles can easily be done legal but at that time once you start your 14 hour clock then wait 3 hours for a load then yes 2500 miles in a week was hard to do legal. But I know this guy, and to say he failed mavericks test is completely false. I am still here at btc as a trainer and will be for sometime to come. It has been a great place to work. For anyone that may be considering btc for employment, we are working on getting all Mack trucks. We have updated almost a third of our fleet at this time and by late next year will have whole fleet updated. They have built in 2500 inverters, built in blue tooth technology ,and equipped with prepass/ ezpass. Still have $.05 quarterly bonus as well as $.04 weekly csa bonus. So money can be made doing the right thing now. A driver with 1 year otr can average $.46 a mile all year long. Not hard at all just doing your job right.

    esanders79 Thanks this.

That may be what he told you, but I was at the yard when he was cut loose. I had told him during the road test that they will tell him what will get you terminated on the road test. I even had told him. What did he do? Not pay attention. He did the exact same thing that I told him and they told him that would be a failure on the road test. They tell you during the road test take exit ramps 5 mph below the posted speed limit. Would you like to take a guess at what he did? He did not listen to simple instructions....and failed the road test.

Well thanks for the correction, but I do think that I posted what I remember him saying to me. Whatever the case he was a very good student driver. Followed directions very well. Just had bigger and better things to do other than trucking I guess. Again thanks for correction

no need for questions right now btc turned me down due to a combination of a wreck within the past two years and license suspension that was 72 hours from the police not turning in proof of insurance between those two things and me applying before i turn 21 (turn 21 next week in school now ) im having a hell of a time getting any where with any company

Do you recruit out of the Tn Tech school here in Memphis? Any thoughts about that school?
