There is another saying too: those who want to drive without burning any fuel trash their trucks, go out of business and start working for peanuts at some mega-fleet.

Only idiot would notoriously keep starving the horse he is riding on :yes2557:

Brilliantly put! That's so true , not only did he put his reputation on the line but he spent his earnings, his livelyhood, took a chance and then reported his findings (free of charge) to us to evaluate what we wanna do! A little bit of constructive criticism is no harm but don't insult this man! He is a true pioneer !

I don't know anything about the parts you listed on your truck, but I thought I'd include what I drive and the mileage I get.

    I have a 2010 Volvo 670.

It was averaging 6.2 mpg when it was issued to me. I now get 7.2 mpg. Sure, it's not 10, but I'm gentle with it. I use progressive shifting and when I'm forced to shift down to 5th to take an upgrade, I don't go over 1500 rpm.. keeping the tachometer in the green. I do the same for my other gears, but I've never needed to go below 5th gear (I drive a 9 speed with 8 being the highest gear and low being lowest)

Though I'm a fleet driver, I always look for ways to save fuel, so I will try to keep up with this thread.

Anyway , despite the small critism here and there
, which can be a good thing! What dice is doing here is a great service! And even if you don't agree , well, you have to admit it's one of the best threads yet! Give a thanks if you agree and show dice your appreciation!

    The way I see it.

If I don't abuse my equipment, it will last longer and decrease my odds of being in the shop as often... which in turn keeps the boss off my ###.

Anyway, with this Volvo, beating it doesn't get you anywhere any quicker. Glad you like my post, though!

Man, your technical/engineering expertise impresses me! Why don't you publish a paper through SAE and call out the BS hype these crooks at MicroBlue are spouting, and straighten out all those IRL and NASCAR engineers flocking to this BS technology? I'll bet your phone will be off the hook with calls from McLaren, Roush, Penske, and all household name racing teams offering you 8-figure salary!

I took the liberty and fixed your grammatical mistakes. You're welcome.

So anyone who tries to maximize profit by minimizing expenses is a socialist? That sounds like a capitalist way to me. Or is it that Dice has been doing what you think is BS science, that makes him a socialist?

So I'd take it that you feel anyone who disagrees with you is an idiot, a socialist, etc. If that is so, your line of thinking resembles that of Obama and his authoritarian communist minions more than you realize.

Only idiots wouldn't understand the difference between reducing fuel consumption by reducing horsepower requirement vs. starving the engine by leaning air/fuel mixture.

    Have a pleasant day!

You got this guy in one, we've been putting up with his bs for months now! Always the same. Same stupid arguements, especially on subjects he obviously doesn't have a clue about, and if u dont agree , well then Ure a socialist! Eventhough he clearly doesn't know what a socialist is! Just don't let that guy hijack what is a great thread

Assuming that NASCAR cars are like trucks and need to be run 1,000,000 miles is a stretch, don't you think? All they want is 1000 miles out of given car or engine. Penske is rich, he can keep replacing them endlessly. Are you?

Big buck methods are totally impossible to implement into working big truck and only complete ignorant disconnected from financial reality of trucking world would try to do that. You are nuts
