Start my own Backhaul Company

    Been thinking about starting up my own Backhaul company.....Have done just about everything in the transportation industry except drive....I'm back to dispatching, covering freight, but my love is finding freight for trucks....I think once my name gets out there i should have do pretty well....Have a few O/O currently out there that i help out just for the he!! of it....Any tips or insight would be appreciated....

    I did a load of backhauls once,

    they are very, very light !!!!

    Remove the word back haul from your vocabulary. A truck has loads what you are talking about is being a broker, if you want to be a succesful one lose the term back haul.

    It's a BS little term coined by idiots that decided that loads going home should pay less than loads heading out. Brokers and dispatchers act like they are doing you a favor getting you home.

    No such thing as a backhaul ..... truck consumes same amount of fuel going West as it did going East. Driver draws same wage per mile in any direction.

    Truck maintenance runs off the hub...same cost all the time, truck don't know any better.

    Drivers can always use their own smarts and get a customer, can keep it all then....OOPS, did i say smarts and driver in the same sentence?? MY BAD...

    Yep and he'll tell eveyone that he can do it cheaper to get business, then think he's doing truckers a service by giving them the loads......:biggrin_2559:
