I did a load of backhauls once,
they are very, very light !!!! -
Whats a backhaul?

Ive heard drivers talk about it before like it was a good thing??????? -
Remove the word back haul from your vocabulary. A truck has loads what you are talking about is being a broker, if you want to be a succesful one lose the term back haul.
Lilbit Thanks this. -
It's a BS little term coined by idiots that decided that loads going home should pay less than loads heading out. Brokers and dispatchers act like they are doing you a favor getting you home.
-
Couldn't have said it better myself, well saidLilbit, gearjammer42 and jess-juju Thank this.

No such thing as a backhaul ..... truck consumes same amount of fuel going West as it did going East. Driver draws same wage per mile in any direction.
Truck maintenance runs off the hub...same cost all the time, truck don't know any better. -
Drivers can always use their own smarts and get a customer, can keep it all then....OOPS, did i say smarts and driver in the same sentence?? MY BAD...
-
Just what we needed, another broker.
-
Yep and he'll tell eveyone that he can do it cheaper to get business, then think he's doing truckers a service by giving them the loads......
