You'd better believe that rotissere chicken that doesn't sell is ground up for chicken salad. And Wendys chili is made from hamburgers that people brought back, or cooked too long on the grill or were dropped on the floor. That's why I quit Wendys when I was in HS and that's why I won't eat their chili. I don't eat many pre-fab foods at all for fear of what might be in there. I did some millwright work in a hotdog factory once. Now I won't eat anything but Hewbrew National. No more slim jims either and that really sux cause I loved those dam things.

That's pretty much standard practice to use "leftovers" in something at every restaurant in America. There are health department rules about how long and how it is stored before the use it or trash it date.

    zebcohobo Thanks this.

I noticed alot of comment on here about crock pots.... I have a crockpot that I found at wall mart. It is called the cook and go crockpot. It features a lid with snapd and a seal so that it will stay closed even if turned upside down.

No more spills in my truck from a crock pot.

Lady K and kd5icr Thank this.

Cooked delicious brown rice + chayote squash (legume now well know in America) + fresh ginger + carots + broccoli, mixed that with black can beans, prepared a fresh salad with letuce + tomatoes + onions + radish + olives + soy souce + lemon juice + salt + black pepper + tofu and sesame seed... hmmmmm..... had a wonderful, healthy and cheap meal in the truck. Used a Burton stove.

I was shakey at radish, but you totally lost me at tofu. :biggrin_2556:Sorry, sounds healthy though ... for those that like it this kind of cooking will help you stay strong, but you won't find it in a truck stop ... it's a do for yourself necessity. Good on ya.

For newbies, cooking in the truck is almost a necessity if you want to maintain a healthy you, but I just can't do tofu ... eeeeeewww.:biggrin_25525:
