Hello I have a few questions I was wondering about with stevens or any other trucking company.
I'm going to be moving out of Alvin, tx and I want to become a Truck driver I'm 28 years old and I have a girlfriend that's going to be moving out to Bridgeport, tx which is 30 mins away from Dallas to help out her father, So I been trying to do some research and I won't have much for money wise and I won't have a place to stay at or anything else like that so it would be just easier for me to go right in to Stevens or any other company.
1) Are you allow to have your spouse to ride with you even if they not part of the company like a ride along?
2) How much money would one have to put up front or while in the training company while in Stevens as in MVR ect. ?
3)Would one have to pay for diesel fuel or dose the company pay for that ?
4) I live in Alvin, tx and was wondering if I would have to take a bus out to Houston or to Dallas
So if someone wouldn't mind helping me with these that would be great and thank you and keep the tires on the Road everyone
newbie should i go to stevens?

2)you need to have about $200 to $250 with you when you get to Stevens.
3) Stevens pays for all fuel, unless you decide to lease a truck latter on.
4) You can take a bus (stevens will pay for it upfront and charge you back for it latter on) or you can drive. Your choice. Better to drive if your close enough.
Also keep in mind that your not gonna make much money that first 6 months. Its gonna be tight on the wallet.DenaliDad and DragonDDarkness Thank this. -

Hi guys!!! I am a newbie in the trucking industry. I have done alot of research about this trucking career that i want to take, i really like what Stevens offer for a new driver with no experience at all and i am planning to go there in Juanuary after my wife gives birth to our second child. I live in New York. I already have my CDL Class A with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements from New York, i didnt go to school for my license i just read the DMV book and pass the written test and for my roadtest a friend of mine let me borrow his truck and thats how i got my CDL License. My question is??? is it true that i have to give up or change it to a texas CDL license as soon as i go to Stevens academy in Dallas texas???? Why??? I already spend alot of money doing all the process to obtain my license.... Another Questions???? Childsupport will affect me to get prehire or hire with Stevens???? I really will appreciated if someone can anwser my questions.... be safe out there and may god bless you....

DOT regs allow you to have only one CDL. The state of issuance does not matter since all of them meet the basic DOT federal requirements. You will have to meet the orientation and training requirements of any company.
