I say they still really dont know what the true caused of the crash is in the first place and to them they gotta blame it on something and dead man tell no tells so its gotta be a cell phone ban. And being the true professionals of the road we can not allow the use of such a device while in a truck but its still gonna be ok for the motoring public.
But hay we still have are CB's................for now.

If they are gonna ban cell phones, do it for EVERYONE. There is a NO TEXTING law in GA and I see more people doing it now than before the law.

And if we're gonna ban cell phones, let's also ban eating, putting makeup on and reading while driving too.

Lilbit and Awesome Possum Thank this.

IMO, this should have been addressed a long time ago. We are the professionals and should know better.

Feds can't do anything with 4 wheelers.

You know, it makes me soooo MAD when I see 4-wheelers texting or doing whatever with their little toys in hands and getting too close to the zipper or to "my" truck.... I just look at them really ANGRY... and if they can see me, and read my lips, I start telling them and gesturing put the freaking thing down and watch the freaking road! :biggrin_25516:
Truckers text and talk on their cells, type and read their QCs, read their maps, eat, talk on their CBs, but rarely I see one getting too close to zipper or line....

I am SO tired fo hearing, "The feds can't of anything with 4 wheelers."

If they're gonna travel the same roads I do, they can follow the same laws.

There are already laws on the books that deal with all of these issues . . . it's called 'Inattentive Driving'. Problem is it doesn't seem to get enforced very often unless something happens. If the cops would start pulling people over when they see them doing stupid crap like putting on make-up, reading a book or magazine on their steering wheel, talking with their cell phone plastered to the side of their head, etc it might start waking people up.

Back in 1993, 6 months after I had knee surgery, and just before Christmas, some idiot a couple cars back from the one I was a passenger in was busy playing with his radio and rear ended the car in front of him . . . chain reaction including 5 cars, none of which were really moving. Holiday traffic near a shopping mall . . . poke, poke, poke. He was cited for 'Inattentive Driving'. No one got hurt because of the almost non-existent speed.

    G/MAN Thanks this.
