Neither one. It states you must provide today and the previous seven upon demand. However driver who consistently falsify can face penalties from an auditor during a compliance review as well as the company.
In addition if you hand them a months worth of logs they can ticket you for any violations found. The trucker myth of being placed OOS for being out of hours seven days ago is bs though.
Dot warning tickets.

Incorrect violations can be removed from an inspection report, even if they are "warnings". -
to me them giving u a warning and noting it makes them liable if anything happens afterwards. warning is a warning a fine is a fine . how can a warning effect your record? you didnt do anything wrong if you were warned about it. get fined for it now its a violation.
-
If i give you a warning, do not put you out of service, that protects me from liability. Having made you aware of a violation does not make me liable, it documents that you have been made aware of it. Anything that happens after that is on you.Injun and bullhaulerswife Thank this. -

"make sure brain is in gear before engaging mouth"
what i meant to say was a warning is usually for something minor, . Not something severe that is a danger to the public. you dont give warnings for violations. to me either there is a violation or there isnt. if you are not cited how can you be affected if no fine was issued? if truck should of been put out of service and you issue "a warning" your not at fault for not doing your job cause you issued a warning ,but the driver is at fault? -
OOS orders and CSA points. Just because it's a warning, does not mean it doesn't carry weight. An officer can place you OOS without issuing a citation. If you get a bad inspection and a warning ticket, be thankful the officer is choosing to not make you pay money. I believe a portion of the officer's decision rests on your demeanor.
So go on ahead and argue yourself out of a warning ticket and into a money ticket. -
If there is no violation of regulations, nothing happens except you get an attaboy for being legal (CVSA decal).
All entries listed on a DOT inspection are for violation of a specific regulation. You may be ticketed (fined) for some of them, the rest are warnings. Officer discretion.
Out of service violations may be tickets or warnings. Officer discretion.bullhaulerswife, Tazz and BigJohn54 Thank this. -
