It's just another symptom of our society...anything that takes more than the click of a mouse or the push of one button or a two-word vocal command is just too irksome for some. Standing in line...common courtesy....victims of people who are so used to getting it right NOW that....good lord!!...a few hours research is just too inconvenient.
Good luck to you, Steve. I'm sure you'll do well!AfterShock Thanks this. -
In my world we call dead air flatulence.

Really you can walk into Chesters office? Without emptying your pockets, maybe being wanded?
Yeah I know it's not Chester it's like Chass or something. My point being you can go talk to the person you deal with everyday after a security checkpoint. A good company has no need because their employee's are treated with and return respect enough to have conversations even when a difference of opinion occurs.
No guards, no metal detectors or apppointments. Anyone can be reached in our office at anytime during normal hours. In fact Phillip kind of makes it a habit to walk in and out the drivers entrance(the difference being our mailboxes are on that corridor and is always accessible to us) towards the weekend so he get's to see some of us and ask us questions about equipment, miles, customers, new laws............
Sons of Chester tend to treat their drivers as cattle and or convicts(frankly after seeing some in a truck stop I realy do not blame them in some cases. Some smells just do not go away for those of you thinking noone knows what you are doing in your truck) instead of valued employees.
There is no such animal as a good lease by the way. None. They do it to make more money and that is fine. However it is a fixed sum. There is no magical "lease rate" so the lease driver and the company can make more. It is one or the other making more profit. Simple logic will reveal the answer. Do you really believe CR England is gonna give it to a LO?
Not likely huh? -
When I was looking to go back into OTR after taking some time off, CRE was the only game in town that would hire me. I'm still with CRE a year later. I see no reason to leave now. Why? I make 35 cents a mile as a company driver and average 2600-3000 miles a week. I'm pretty much capped out with what I can make based on my recent OTR experience. I'm not a job hopper either. I do my homework before joining a company. Who knows, I might stay here long enough to make it a career.
CRE didin't design the lease program. CRE doesn't own the leased trucks. Horizons does. Horizons and CRE are two different companies with two different agendas.
You don't need a appoitment to talk to the office personnel at CRE. If their door is open, walk right in. CRE isn't the only company that has medal detectors. Other mainstream carriers have them also. Why? It's not a trust issue. CRE has a no firearm policy. This policy applies to the office personnel just as much as the drivers. So yes, even the office personnel need to empty their pockets when going through a security checkpoint. -
Go do some homework on how Horizon came about. Might want to check whose name is on the corporate rolls as well.
Just like Prime's "Lease Company", the only reason for seperation is separation of liability when they lose a law suit. Oh and they have lost a few and wisened up on how to protect the equity in thier companies from judgements.
But I digress. Telling me they treat their dispatch in a similar manner does nothing to impress me. I wouldn't work where I was treated like that regardless of my job description.
If it works for you good deal. If my choices were England or ditch digging hand me a shovel. Got nothing for them.zentrucking and AfterShock Thank this. -

Goes the bubble.
That sorta takes the wind outta the sails.
Credibility just took a major hit.
Likewise trust.
I'm disappointed.
I thought TheBatMan wanted to set the record straight, -- correct misinformation about C.R.E.?
I'm thinkin' that TBM has some 'splainin' to do.
Ya reckon.
