Rumor has it that as soon as some of our existing contracts are up we will no longer be doing outside loads, only JBS and Pilgrim's loads

Well, that begs to question why you aren't doing more of those right NOW?

I am thinking about applying but I wanted some opinions about the company and how they treat there drivers, how the equipment is and just some general info.. Any help would be great. My biggest concern is I don't wanna sit and wait on loads, and I don't want to deal with any drama in the company.

    IMHO we are treated great!

    EXCELLENT equipment!

Layovers happen, but not too often!

Met a brand new driver while delivering to WM in Los Lunas. Came up to my cab while I was backing and starting to tell me about how this was his very first load and he was having problems with the qualcomm and so on and on. He seemed like a nice enough guy but I said "hey let me get backed in first", he looked at me and he was like, ooops. I think he was so excited about seeing another JBS driver he didn't realize what I was trying to do there! Anyway, after checking in I got into his truck and gave him a hands on tutorial on the Qcomm. This fellow was an experienced driver and didn't go out with a trainer to show him the ropes on the Q. They don't teach 'em jack in orientation about how to use the Q. The training is pretty much "here, just play around on it". What kind of training is that? After about an hour or so I think he was feeling better about the whole thing. Much of the things I was showing him he had never seen before. Instead of me just telling him what to do I was having him do it himself a few times so that he might remember better. Maybe with the guys that are going out without a trainer and have never used the Qualcomm before they should have a special hands-on class for these guys, THEY NEED IT!!!

Well I don't mind saying it. Well bro if you don't want to wait on loads. you are in the wrong business. As far as treating their employee's its a large company getting larger, and pretty much you are meat in the seat like all the rest. Give you 2,000 miles and tell you. Not to use the company advance money. That is going to come out your check anyway. You get paid every 2 weeks. Great equipment, Great benefits, Not to much drama with company because they don't like to answer their phone. But again this is a refrigerated carrier and some times you have to wait for the cows, pigs, and chickens to be killed, boxed, and tested for diseases. Economy sucks right now so you have everybody fighting for same load. so waiting is part of the game in this business. IMHO
