Is TMC Tarping Pay Really Just 10 Bucks?

You think that sucks don't ask how much the company is charging the customer for that same tarp job.

 

I don't tarp for less than $150.

 

its 10 for steel and 15 for lumber. I want to say it is suppose to be going up soon. Really for 30 minutes that it usually takes to throw your tarps and bungee it down, 10 bucks is not bad.

 

A tmc driver told me this summer he gets 10.00 to tarp and the company charges 100.00 to the customer, so even if you are taking the truck only across the street they will have you tarp the load.

 

Good point, but I'd still rather sit in my cab while my van is loaded than earn $10 to tarp a load in...say...Fargo around mid January.

 

I dont mind doing it in the winter. I dont care about cold and snow really. I picked flatbed for the reason I get out of the truck to do more then open and close my doors. The work out from the tarping and securing is worth it in its own. Look into what other companies pay for tarping because its all pretty similar, the only difference is out of the large flatbed companies which others pay % pay? I know I make more then the .40 CPM most make......

 

I got paid $15 to tarp as a company driver back in 1992 and another $8 to strap my load. Most companies are paying way more then $10 bucks, look at Melton they pay $40 and I know of some others they pay way more then $20.

I loaded sometimes with TMC trucks, If I knew you TMC drivers were only getting $10 to tarp I would have paid you guys $20 to come over and tarp mine.
