When you have to take a 34 hour reset and can't take it at home, your stuck at some truck stop, what do you do to pass the time away ?
When I drove longhaul in the 90's I can remember being at one 6 or 7 hours waiting on a load, but 34, give me a break. Can you do any driving at all during this time, like if the truckstop your at is garbage, can you drive to a better one ? And how do you refrain from spending too much money during that time, eatin stuff from your truck gets old after a while, you want a real meal. This forum must be a lifesaver to avoid total bordem and going out of your mind.
And watching the big carriers bang into each other while backing gets old after 15 or 20 of them. If your not allowed to idol and don't have an apu your sol summer or winter.
You could rent a lizzard and wait for the infection to set in. Do you ever get together with other drivers and go to a real restaurant or bar and have some fun ? If it's raining and your in some slop hole anti depressants are a must along with the confined space. So, just what do you do ?

Hey I spent 6 days in a TS once. Couldn't drive stuck in Houston. anyway you find things to do like movies and reading a book. Some guys polish some fix it's all about you for 34 and by the way it will go fast.

I had some extra time on this run so the night before last I stopped at the Petro in Glendale, KY and got one of those headlamp restoration kits as the lamps on my Colunmbia were yellowed and clouded up pretty bad. To make a long story short it was well worth the effort. The lamps aren't 100% clear like brand new as the insides are a bit damaged but they are loads better than they were. I treated myself to the steak buffet for a job well done, LOL!

If I'm fortunate I like taking my dog for long walks, you can meet some friendly locals and see a few things normally off the grid for a driver.

I'm a city slicker but if I ever went OTR I would bring my bicycle somehow because I LOVE riding around aimlessly.
