A quick update. I came off of home time Thursday morn, picked up a load in Hebron, KY going to Camillus, NY. Dropped that load Friday and got dispatched to pick up a load in Gouverneur, NY. Way up in the Adirondack region, was a nice ride. Picked up my load there, a run to Wisconsin with 4 stops. Delivered my 4 stops before noon today, everything went smooth.

Got dispatched to pick up a load in Wisconsin Rapids, WI which is where I sit now waiting to get loaded. It's going to Norcross, GA. So I ended the week with a 1000+ mile run and starting the week off with a 1000+ mile run. I've been in the zone since I came off home time and I hope it keeps going. Feeling good and running good.

Gouverneur is 50 miles south of me, but I haven't picked up there since december 29th. Do we still have only one drop trailer there?

Correct, only 1 trailer there. It was a 4 stopper though so made a few more bucks off the load.

Sitting at the J in Oak Grove, KY on my way to GA. Watched a few military aircraft buzz the field, man it brings back memories. I was a mechanic on jet fighters for 10 1/2 years in the Air Force. Also watching and laughing at some of these truck drivers trying to back into parking spots. I swear I have to wonder how some of them get by. For the newbies....It's all in the setup! Get down your setup and the backing will come easier.

Why did you get out after 10 1/2 years? You were over half way done.

I've never been accused of being smart. lol. Actually the ex and I were more interested in raising a stable family and moving every 2 years was getting old. Plus I landed a job at Delta for more than double of what I was making in the military.

Currently sitting on top of Monteagle, TN doing my 10. Made my delivery in Norcross this morn. Got dispatched to pickup in Dalton, GA taking carpet to Eau Claire, WI. Miles are looking good so far this week. Let's hope it keeps up.

I should have drove down to Norcross and hollared at you. I work in Lawrenceville and have facilities down there we service. I saw in your other post where you said you would be there this morning. It is not the place it use to be down there for sure.

Sitting in Black River. Was on my way to Eau Claire and ran out of hrs, so I'm stuck here til midnight at least anyway. Gives me time to do some laundry anyway, which I need.

    Have a great weekend.

So from the time you went to orientation till you went solo about how long was that?

After getting your CDL how long were you out with a trainer before going solo?

For someone that is brand new and has never driven a truck before if they dont feel comfortable going solo and want to train longer is that a problem? Or do they offer any team driving?

Once going solo what were you averaging for miles and pay as a company driver?

Do you know how much their family plan medical insurance costs?

Im sure some of these questions have probably already been answered in this thread but I have been reading threads all day and my eyes are going crossed...lol
I am considering applying to this company or Prime but the Millis website is devoid of a lot of detailed information so im kind of leaning the other way. But it seems Millis has a very good hometime and vacation policy and they also have a yard not to far from me. Not that i care much if im on the road for month or more at a time its just nice to know its there if you need it.
