There had got to be MUCH MUCH more to this than what we are being told..
Trust me my son works for CRST also and has had more than what I think is his share of breakdowns....the most they have done to him is rescheduled his appts...
now everytime he broke down he did IMEDIATLEY get in touch with his shop and DM to inform them of breakdown both on phone and thru
    qualcom...
getting fired for break down or getting stuck JUST DONT ADD UP...

    BNR32 Thanks this.

I am not being critical of your brothers decisions, seeing as I wasn't there. However you are responsible to make good decisions when you are driving truck. If I was on a "backroad" in Nebraska, I would think long and hard about pulling off on the shoulder. It's fairly common knowledge that shoulders on "backroads" won't support a tractor trailer. I think I would get the flashers on and the triangles out ASAP.

We had a buddy who was always out of fuel, broke, broke-down, couldn't deliver on time. He lasted a month. His third time-no fuel, he was GONE! This guy called my husband all the time. No money. No fuel.

We saw him by surprise, didn't know he was signing up and we tried to help him. We told him what to do, how to run his money, I help guys find loads...we do not give money. My hubby has worked on trucks, for many guys. We do not give money.

This guy always called us broke and no fuel. I always have money stashed. My husband knows it, too. The first time he spends too much at the casino, he gets an allowance!

The truck runs fine and my hubby gets by on 40%. He also has his advances.

If you can't run a truck like that, you got SERIOUS problems.

The worst reports on CRST/CRST-Malone always come from the guys who lease a truck.

So far, I don't see much from Malone drivers who own a truck.

I had to take a couple of gravel back roads out in northern IA to deliver a load to a local grain mill. That was an experience trying to turn on those roads in the middle of the night. This town was not on the map either. I think everybody worked for this company that owned the silos and was all farmers.

CRST Expedited is a bad company. They will make you pay for everything. I couldn't believe my ears in orientation. They are really cheap!!! I have heard of a lot of company drivers getting fired on the spot. Of course there is always more to the story. Also it just depends on who your fleet manager is. You can get a real jerk or you can get one that can handle their job and be respectful.

I don't know about Malone, I heard they are treated a lot better and their drivers are always pretty happy. The ones I've talked to anyway.

In my opinion, if you work for CRST, try to get on a dedicated account. They have UPS, R&L and a couple others. Not in all areas though. I did UPS dedicated to Louisville from Fontana every week. Was home 2.5 days a week and made $850 a week. Then I went on R&L dedicated. Made $981 a week and was home 2.5 days a week. Of course I was never home on any weekend days and they made you run really hard. Didn't have time for a shower a lot of times. I've made a lot more money at other companies too but home time was more important to me. Always knew what I'd be making and always knew when I'd be home.

Mechanics suck and it is an overall dump of a place to work for. No direct deposit, expensive benefits, etc. Fontana yard is a complete toilet! I heard they are building a new one though. It was supposed to be finished by now. Good luck to whoever works there.

Erik, some people know how to run, hard.
Also, if you only made 10K, how is that pos., unless you were always being kicked out of the truck, in place of another Team driver.
