I'll give you that -Tesla was a genius, light years beyond his time...

The Brit invented what would be considered the earliest calculator. American universities such as Harvard, MIT, Stanford, etc; all pioneered modern computing.

The most brilliant British inventor of all time was Isaac Newton. That guy is the epitome of genius...

The Germans were the most ingenius when it came to engineering, mathematics and related fields. The US wisely brought many here to work after WW2.

Nope, what the Brits invented was colossus , it was the computer that broke the enigma codes in ww2 saving many allies lives, it's said that part of it even still works in British intelligence, it was invented by tommy flowers a post office worker, it's importance only revealed in the last few years, that my friend ; that is no calculator ,

Tesla was a true genius in every sense, a great mind and an inspirational engineer

One question, given a choice would you buy one or drive one if it was your choice?

Now you see most of you are missing my point! America is great because of a truly international imput of great minds, America has been put together with the best minds in the planet, Isn't this what makes America stand out? Taking the best and making it better? It's true some of the best ideas came during war time but imagine what could we achieve together! Somehow human ingenuity works best when we wanna kill each other. This is why I hate seeing guys on this forum talking down to other guy from different countries, makes my blood boil! The only bs in this life is political divisions and religious nonsense, there is no reason we can't have proper debates ( most here are intelligent enough and capable of such a thing) and learning from each other without childish fighting ' for instance ! If I say something that's not right, inform me, then we all learn , no fighting, no problem

Pioneered but didn't invent! Where did I ###### up on my list of inventions, I'm sitting in a service station in central France with no google and it's killing me to know how many times I f**ked up, I didn't think I did but only a fool would think he knows everything!

I've been catching up on American prototype planes, f16's with forward swept wings and wings with holes in them, fascinating stuff! Also American "plastic" tanks experiments,

Yeah, our tanks are already made out of all kinds of stuff. They use layers of styrofoam in the armor to catch shrapnel. Other countries are doing some cool stuff too. South Africa took the designs for that little Comanche attack helicopter we decided not to fund, refined it, made it even better, and built it. Isreal came up with that counter weapons system that can shoot down anything larger than a rifle bullet before it hits the vehicle it's mounted on.

It was my choise becouse old school trucks are more reliable and lower maintanace cost.

New trucks are made with expencive features, like all controlled with electronics, too many expencive control units, complicated wiring.
I got '99 truck to have no EGR, SCR, DEF, DPF and other emission crap.

I can see how many problems with Actros, Cascadias, Volvo trucks! I need truck to get my investment back but not to support myth about emviremet and not to emmit clear exaust.

IMO, Euro-III standard is the best combination of fuel efficiency, emission level and reliability. New emission standards make us spent to many $$$!

i'm totally with you on the envoirnmental rubbish that ruins engines, but the thing is i wouldn't go too old because i couldn't go back to the fuel economy of 10 years ago, for eg: my 2001, 144 530 was 2mpg harder on fuel than my current r580
