If your a new driver or have to start out some where look elsewhere unless you just want to spend your time in a terminal, or waiting for a load in b.f.e.; or you want to spend a lot of time on hold trying to get your problem solved. plan on having your truck and trailer red tagged every time you enter a terminal and spending 2 days to a week waiting for sub-standard service from gra-garbage. I could go on for days. If after reading just this and the other posts about werner. and you still want to work for them you must be a real idiot. there are some good ones out there do some research. and DON'T BELIEVE A WORD the recruiter says.
    Happy Trucking

Why do people get jobs with out doing a basic search on trucker forums? It easy and takes 1 hour of your time to read and make up your mind. But NO. Instead you guys get a job, waste your time then some to a forum and post how it sucks. We already know this. But you didn't. LOL
I'm sorry for your luck. NEXT TIME SEARCH A COMPANY BEFORE YOU TAKE THE JOB.

In the real world, some have to take what they can, especially with no experience.

How many will hire with less than 6 months experience and how many are jacked up Werner style is the better question.

The problem with public forums when trying to gather good and bad experiences is human nature. It is human nature to take the time to bi##tch and gripe about a company, but few will take the time to praise a company. I would hazard a guess that for every disgruntled driver you read about here, there are 20 drivers who are happy and too busy making money to take the time to offer a positive review ... unless the driver is angling for new driver referral cash.

It goes without saying, in today's mega-carrier trucking world, a driver will wait a lot, have slow weeks, and not-so-slow weeks, have maintenance issues from time to time. A lot success that occurs or does not occur in the roll of the "happiness" dice is just that, a crap shoot. Maybe you get lucky and it holds, maybe your luck sucks for weeks and months. But it can/will happen with ANY carrier for some. I suppose there are a few "bad" carriers where odds are 7 out of 10 drivers will never be happy but they will all fold sooner or later because eventually the reputation becomes too well known that even new drivers fresh out of school will avoid them. Furthermore, a carrier HAS to have at least 60% experienced and content drivers (1.5 years plus) or they will fail due to too many service failures and incidents. And you can't do that by pissing off every driver in the fleet, every week, for months on end.

You have to scratch and fight for the little bit of freight that is out there that's worth a ####. and you have to keep yourself available to run by any means possible, at all times, and prove your value to the company before you can expect good things to come your way. And this day in age, you can not count on getting good "evaluations" from dm's. You have to make your numbers look good in good times and in bad. Most dispatch/planning systems have a driver score somewhere that get's factored in when a "hot" or long load with tight delivery schedule comes up. And I'm not going to go into any detail how that score is arrived at because every company is different, but with qualcom tracking and analysis , interactions with dm/s, safety. service foremen, etc, a lot comes into play. That's my 2 cents.

I would bet a dollar to a donut that there are some people who like Werner, besides Greg and Gary Werner. Probably can count the number on one hand, but they're out there.
