Ok guys, true to my last post I did get extra hours in today. Today started with me going in after Bella Velvet's (my cat) date with spaying specialist. I informed my boss that I needed to pick her up between 3-4. I love to work and do not like obligations but my cat is family. One thing I love about my job is the obstacles thrown at me. After mowing the lawn, I pulled ice blocks. I discovered one of my sinks was not working. No problem man (in my best Jamaican accent and no disrespect intended to those who are Jamaican). Pulled blocks and had lunch with my boss when arrived from his errands.
After lunch I still had time to complete my stops from yesterday. Therefore, I got the option of doing it today or tomorrow. Well I did the deliveries and here is where routing comes into play. I know I had a couple stops joined together and another on the side of town. Because I had more stops in one particular part of town, I did those and completed the other one last in case I ran out. Fortunately for me I did not. Now I had a couple of questions that I needed help on and got help upon my arrival when I turned in my paperwork. All in all a good day despite my obstacles thrown upon me.

All in a days work KH!! You handle what you can, and if you need some help you ask, a sign of being a professional is knowing when to do both! Sounds like you're already there!!
Glad this is working out so well for you. Keep up the good work! The Challenger Thanks this. -
Another week has gone past and I am happier than ever. Got a chance to do a shift by myself. My boss works a lot and hopefully me working an extra day can help him have more family time if I can do a Saturday or two a month. I am learning this business and that is what is important to me. I am happy in a environment where I can continue to learn.

Yesterday I made a visit to my grand parents house. I mentioned how my boss treats me and what I have learned. My grandpa mentioned there are good bosses and bad ones when it comes to learning from. Anyways I mentioned how my boss just does not yell and say get it right. He wants me to understand how to avoid making this mistake again, why I made it and how I can avoid making it in the future. He is calm, relaxed and patient when it comes to critiquing my mistakes.
I have had many managers at previous jobs use the other way when it comes to figuring out how to avoid making mistakes. They will show you while being tense and not playing it cool. Now I can understand if this is your forth consecutive time making the same mistake(s), a manager will be rough. They have every right to. But for the first, come on. However, everyone has a different way of showing. It is up to you to inform the manager how you learn best.
Today I made no deliveries but received our annual shipment of supplies from one of our vendors. I pulled blocks, and started doing office work. I did get a visit from a volunteer with the wounded warrior foundation who was shipping gator to soldiers. I sold some dry ice to him. I have to give it to people who do outstanding random acts of kindness. Finally I ran some errands for my boss and called it a day. New one tomorrow.

Another week has gone by and this makes it four months employed here. This week was slow as I got less hours. However, I get to spend more time at home with Bella, my Bombay/DSH mix cat. At the end of my day, my boss gave me my Monday dispatch. He has me going to Vero for a new customer and a couple of deliveries included.
Today I did some moving around in our second office. I also spray painted tanks and made some deliveries. I usually get 26-27 hours for my week. Thats all that I want right now. I am lucky to have a job in this economy we are dealing with. Have the weekend off and I feel happy.
God Bless,

I used to work with a air separation company handling 02,c02,n2,h2 ect and they trained me for three months on handling, shipping, safety, iso training, first aid, ect, ect ect. It truly was an adventure and eye opener towards safety and how we work every day with these products and was able to be home everynight and make some large money.....so stay hard at it. If you love your job, you'll never have to work a day again. The Challenger and cc tanker Thank this. -

So guys I had a excellent first day. I went down to Palm Bay to a customer we regularly deliver too. I then headed down to Vero Beach and delivered to a new customer, SFS, off 90th Ave (the street that runs N. and S by the TA. TA is on the East side of 90th). The people were extremely polite and offered to off load my box of dry ice with a forklift. I denied the request as I have a lift gate that goes up and down. In addition I gave the supervisors any information they wanted to know regarding the product.
SFS had a wash bay on site. Any idea what this is for?? They do ship a lot of produce and my boss thinks it is to wash the produce. I stopped at the TA off 60th to get a beverage before going back to Melbourne. On the way back, I saw a Calex truck at MM170 going S. bound on 95. It looked to be a 670 Volvo but may have been a 780.
Also saw Carroll Fullmer T660, CRST Cascadia, Pemberton Intl Proistar, several Walmart and Swift Petes and KW's and JB Hunt small sleeper prostar. I will say this; those prostars with the 56in sleeper look to be small. One of the trucks I passed had a name that stuck out that I have never heard of before; Pulmeteri Brothers. I know it was not pullen as I would have recognized the trailer and safe stat came up with zilch. If any of you know who I am talking about, please correct me.
Anyways, got back and headed out on an emergency delivery to a customer who was out of C02. I then took a lunch break. Afterwards, I filled tanks and left around 3. Overall very good day.
