You can ask. If one is available they will offer it to you.

I think the majority of the fleet is 780's so the chances of getting one is pretty good.

Sitting at my delivery in Landover MD. I have a 2am delivery. This has been a little nuts for my first trip after vacation. I called the broker Monday to verify my load info. I was told I had an 11am pick up in Jacksonville for Tuesday. I load my stuff into my truck and go back home to spend the last night with the wife. I leave the house at 5am and drive nonstop to Jacksonville to find out I have a 2pm appt. I call the broker and tell him what's going on and he puts me on hold. About 5 minutes later he comes back and tells me he made a mistake and yes I did have a 2pm appt. I told him I left the house at 5am based on my info that was given to me the day before and that if I had been given the correct info I would have left at 10 instead of 5. He apologized then gave me a $50 com check for the mixup. Pretty nice jesture on his part.

I was loaded and rolling at 3pm with some extra scratch in my pocket. As I was getting on 95 my truck started hesitating and missing. My idiot light came on telling me to check my fuel filter. I made it to the Petro in Kingsland, put the truck in the shop and in an hour I had 2 new fuel filters, fuel and made it to the SC welcome center for bed. Got up at 5am and was rolling by 6. Louie called me earlier to tell me to just deadhead to the yard after I get empty. I called Eddie earlier to tell him I will need lumper money but I didn't know how much. I asked him if I should call the after hours number at 2am and he said no then gave me a comckheck for $200 and told me if it's less to call him in the AM and he would cancel out the left over amount. This is the nice thing about Calex, they work with you. I wonder how many companies give out money before hand.

I don't say this in a smart ### way, but this new company I'm with gives us 200 dollars each week to cover tolls if we happen to use them, no out of pocket expenses. At the end of the week I turn in my receipts to the front desk lady and she refunds the amount of the receipts to see to it that I always have 200 dollars at the beginning of the week. Like you, I wondered how many companies do this, I hear horror stories about guys having to fork out their own cash and then fight to get it back at the end of the week. Thankfully for you and I there's still a few good companies out here, have a safe ride and take the rain back south with you if ya would:biggrin_25514:
