You did that mileage doing a "linehaul". Obviously you had no docktime or other encumbrance.

I'm not sure what you are trying to prove here except that you ran the mileage in the time frame.

Im Truckload,,,Not LTL Freight(they are not on ELOGS),,and yes exactly that was my point,,680 miles, heavy load, company truck, all on ELOGS,all in less than 11 hrs of ACTUAL time(No fudging/calculating here)

Only thing I was trying to point out is that you can be productive on ElOGS
And a 3005 week (on 6 days) Ill take that,,Im ok with the ELOGS

Elogs are great when you have 2 1,500 mile trips inside of six days. Anybody can do what you're proud of. The problem comes in when you strive to do 3,000 miles/wk when you're only given a 450, 750, 490, 900, and 400 mile loads and having to deal with all the on duty not driving time, waiting for dispatch, at shipper, at receiver, in shop etc.

At least on paper and with all this load activity, there are ample places to fudge to try and help yourself squeeze out another 200 miles (few here, few there) in such a week. Point is, you can you can only log 680 miles in an 11 hour elog day when you have a trip that EXCEEDS 680 miles.

Maybe you'll be "skeered" when all the companies who run LTL reefer are forced to run legal, and none of the groceries get delivered on time, and the prices on the shelves skyrocket even more. Wont matter much If its Werner or an independent O/O is puling the freight. Just because it works for dry van truckload does not mean it works for the entire industry.

You are also showing an ideal scenario with no backups, no heavy traffic, no breakdown, no DOT inspections, and no repairs.

I remember before the HOS rules were changed in 2004 people were screaming how all these shippers/receivers would be FORCED to comply and cooperate with the trucking companies. All shippers/receivers do is shop around for a bottom feeder outfit who is willing to screw drivers over for cheap and tolerate their BS.

This is why I will never drive for mega fleet....

When the last small company using loose leaf logs closes its doors I'm done..

This is one question I've been asking the recruiters and owners of smaller companies. So far all of them have said they still use paper logs. Yesterday I talked to an owner of a smaller trucking company that runs end-dumps and pneumatics in the county where I live. I was told that so far they don't. However they are mostly setup, in case they say they have to go to them.

I was surprised to find that TMC and Keim still use paper logs.

Well partner 1st let me say the purpose of the post was to show you can be productive with them(look at the route/load/miles driven) Im in no way a Johnny rah-rah 4 them, but i'll give you my opinion of what you brought up(not tryin to argue with you, okay)

1.LTL reefer:you make the point from a drivers POV,but if you look at it from a trucking POV they wouldnt allow the LOAD to be late so they would relay in route(if possible/probable) so that makes your scenario moot (if the freight is late it is delivered "cheaper" due to the penalty, and its not like the whole reefer industry is suddenly going to be late and the stocks in warehouses would get to a point to make prices soar???

2.Ive been on ELOGS since Feb 2011,not one of my loads have been late and or rescheduled, matter of fact last 2 weeks have been running I-95/I-85 corridor between NJ and and Atlanta,NO PROBSplan your load/plan your day.i plan for 600 miles a day:glasses7:

3.We dont run crap for equipment,we are on ELOGS/PREPASS(this is my 5th truck in 10 years) except for my 1st truck(had 82,000) on it all were brand new

4.Shipper/receivers: well it really means your customer base, crappy customers=crap freight=crap times on docks(ten years here at CFI/ConwayTL,total of 10 food warehouse deliveries),like you said we let the bottom feeders do the grocery crap:shock:

Last point,if i had a choice i would rather be on paper, but im not,see like a lot of us(you included) we have to pay the price for all those other drivers who cant seem to understand the system and cause all of us who do understand to now run under a NEW PLAN,I ran the old hours,I ran the new,now Im on ELOGS,such is life:walk:

Not sure what your meaning of "squeezin" out another 200 miles,1st you say a 3000 mile week, well okay 3000 miles, how are you squeezin 200 more? what do you think we cant log more than 3000? do it all the time,ELOGS are actual time,I dont know about you or where you drive but 14 hrs a day is plenty enuf for me,dont need to be working more than that, that load was a 900 miles,i delivered the next day(just like you would have,,,CORRECT?,matter of fact let me give you that entire day.Started Worcester Mass,DH to Norwich CT,(live loaded),drove to Rome NY(live unload) DH to Cortland NY (D&H) and drove to Pine grove Pa(post trip) 585 miles,1 live Load,1 live unload 2 pretrips,1 posttrip

    http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=W...rk-Wzf7FiTFuNef11mdGPA&vpsrc=1&mra=ls&t=m&z=7

Im not braggin or "proud of" or whatever, just do it everyday, and btw if your wondering, 27 mins left to drive, and 47 mins on my 14

Matter of fact this was my week:
    http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=L...CZNpXQT1iDELYwuZL97-Zg&vpsrc=0&mra=ls&t=m&z=6

all stops were either live loads and or live unloads,Started on a friday in Lumberton took load thru house, did a 34 and proceeded up to NJ,finished in Atlanta on Sunday,,typical week,so to answer your ?'s ,,yeah im doing exactly what you are saying
