Someone else more qualified then me(starting 11/1 with them) will no doubt answer ya. Bunch of really good folks on here, new and exp.

I can tell you that my boss got a phone call from Prime, she transferred them to HR. They asked Michelle in HR 3 questions. When did I start work? Was I still working there? Would I be eligible for re-hire if I terminated my employ? They will check for a min of 3 years employment(no prior trucking) or from what I understand, 10 years with prior trucking. Check some of the earlier posts in this thread about other things they look for. Not too much diff then most OTR co's, but Prime is definitely a tad stricter.

Oh yeah, make sure you search on here for "Prime & BMI & Index". Make sure you know about that one. BMI stands for Body Mass Index. Sort of a weight to height ratio. It's tied into sleep apnea and CMV driver fatigue. It's Prime being proactive before the suits in DC enact more regs!(Just guessing?)lol!

Oh yeah...whatever ya do DON'T waist your time reading the threads from back a ways from somebody whining about Prime discriminating against fat folks that have to do with BMI. I wasted hours wading thru a big part of it a couple weeks ago.

    Good luck to you!

    Everett Thanks this.

Just tell your recruiter and they will point you in the right direction. Although they are probably going to want a 1099/w2 is my guess, but you never know till you try. Good luck man.

Thanks. I tried to read as much info from the positive people. I understand that u can't make everybody happy. U can tell some of peoples comments what kind of attitude they have. Negative attitude doesn't get you anywhere. As far as BMI I should be good, I am currently a reserves in the marine corps. Try to stay as fit as they want me to be lol.

I appreciate his service as much as the next veteran.

Perhaps I'm old fashion but "paid under the table" is unethical, I.M.H.O. Did we as current or former members of the military family forget the oath we once took?

I, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.

Perhaps the oath is too old and should not apply once we are discharged. Just thinking out loud.

Well the owner of the truck paid in at the end of the year. He was also going to school while I drove so he did not have the time to figure the taxes to be taken out on me. In theory at the end of the year my accountant would figure out how Much I owe or according to my recipts what I would get back. But haven't worked a full year before the motor blew. Yes I did take the oath and follow it, as long as my family are taken care of. But I understand what u are saying.

    GSWx Thanks this.

Why I even ventured into this conversation was because the trucking companies takes employment verification seriously because of the federal mandates as to past employment. Even the Dept. of Homeland Security has rules language (law) that trucking companies must follow. For example, if the company cannot verify employment or where about during that period of time they may not take your application seriously.

I'm not interested in seeing you or some other veteran getting jammed up by declaring a mea culpa online for all to see. Best of luck to you and a big Thanks for your service!!!
