Anyone know anything about D&T Trucking out of Weatherford, TX. They specialize in pulling pneumatic trailers loaded with sand to the oil field. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

yes I worked for D&T Trucking now in Weatherford Texas, and I can tell you that there are a lot of drivers complaining about them, there is a lot of dead head that they will rarely pay you anything for it, they are putting so many trucks and drivers on, and between that and their dispatch, and most of the company employees owning trucks, it is hard to make a living, only certain people seem to be making a lot of money, some of my friends have already left, for example one of my owner op friends has been there for a year and watched his settlements drop, last week he cleared $1400 , because there are so many trucks and drivers now (over 400) and we are hearing they want 600 by years end

if you like 50-75 loads about 1 for every 2 days average, and a lot of sitting, and not much detention, than D&T might be for you

Just finished working for these folks for several months, good people at the core but what is being said is sadly true. Old partner out new one bought into D and T so conditions changed. Hard to keep a driver working for them, lots and lots of wasted time due to poor management (my drivers were constantly angered at all the wasted time waiting for loads while company owned units came and went loaded). Paperwork requires a LOT of time to get it figured out as again management is way overloaded with to many new company units and way to few people to handle it. Dispatch has a huge turn over in personnel and along with that all the associated problems trying to train up folks. First in first out dispatch may be told but actions certainly don't show it. D and T will and did make things right with me but it took a lot of calls and time to resolve even the slightest error in payment. I never lost a penny with them but this is not my main business so I have an office staff that stayed on top of them. I would wager the average O/O won't have the resources I have to sort out the paperwork.
If you are new to sand hauling they will seem OK, but to have been there before they got so big and to see them now it was time for me to make a change.
Thanks D and T for the work it was great while it lasted may we part friends.:biggrin_25519:

I have talked to many of their drivers since I started hsuling sand. Some are happy...not thrilled and others hate the place. I do agree that with MOST ALL FRAC HAULING right now there seem to be way to many drivers not as many loads. Maybe its a seasonal thing...maybe not.
I have four Tutle and Tutle drivers that live on my road and all seem to be happy. They have been at this game a while. I met a D nT drivers from essrten Europe while loading in Hughes springs,TX ETPS one night about 2:00 am that was on his way to Pennsylvania who had me look at his axle frame connection. There was a large crack not having been a driver long he asked if it was OK? I said no and gave him my card in case he got out there in the EastbTexas woods broke down and needed help. He called me the following day from PA....guess the crack was not as bad as I thought I said. He said "Naaa I will worry about this if it breaks" good luck was all I could say.
Many of the drivers in Texas hauling frac right now are not moving a lot. Just a select few. But all the companies I know of are hiring again??? The must think it will pick up soon..as this is the word in the hood
