Thank you for the positive reply.I will certainly look into the unemployment deal. The companies that said "We can't help you." were all on that list of names you gave though (except CRE), the catch I ran into....I already have the CDL. So I will let everyone know what the unemployment office tells me tomorrow.

its funny but you usually get bad things said about most companies by drivers but there is always some good mixed in. I've never heard a good thing said about England.

There is a 5 day class you have to attent before you can do a "State Road Test".
You can test "hard copys" before you are State Certified but can not test a permit holder to get a full licence.
I know what I am saying is true as I was a Utah State Certified Instructor.
The Blanket you are thinking about is for the school, it has to be certified also, but each instructor that is testing students also has his own testing number after taking the state certified test....AfterShock Thanks this. -

Followin that logic, can it then also be said that;
Just because a handful of drivers haven't had bad experiences
doesn't mean everyone hasn't?
It ain't fair to lump the leased drivers in the mix with the company drivers.
But for the sake of discussion, let's run with those numbers and see how well they crunch.
If 20% of the company drivers each year had "bad experiences", that would come to 1,200 drivers each year. Is that a "handful"? With a turn-over rate exceedin' 200% per year, I'm thinkin' 20% is bein' conservative. At 35% it would be around 2,000 company drivers each year havin' "bad experiences"
That's a lot!

Those starry eyed wannaBees who pass through the incommin' revolvin' doors are considered transportation devices for a full wallet, --- which is promptly emptied --- and the delivery device is then ushered to the outgoin' revolvin' doors.
So to be completely up front, the "bad experiences" start before the drivin' even begins.
How 'bout countin' those who weren't officially hired? Do their "bad experiences" count? Or just overlook 'em and claim they don't exist?

I doubt they want to keep drivers for more than one year. The Sons-0-Chester are makin' bank trainin' dreamers and runnin' 'em cheap. They depend on drivers bailin' out ASAP to make room for a dreamer who's probably been waitin' weeks, or months, for their dream to be fulfilled. By then their dream is a nightmare. One of a "handful" who encounter "bad experiences", --- so does it really matter?

I am certain because I drove for Werner, and I have friends that drive for every mainstream carrier, so it's easy to compare the BS. I think I told you this in another thread. All the mainstream carriers are the same. The main difference is the paint and logo on the side of the truck. They all sell you the same BS.
No, the 6,000 drivers aren't all company. BUT, they all went through the same training program.
Every OTR carrier has a high turnover rate. It's not secluded to CRE, Werner, Swift, Prime, whoever. The peoblem mostly lies with students comming into the industry that expect the world to be handed to them on a silver platter. It's not all the students fault as companies do sell them this false illusion during orientation. Students come into the industry expecting the job to be something that it isn't. It's a dog eat dog industry. -
200 % sound right to you ? People are dieing to get out ! One of my trainees came from C.R.E. .12 cpm ? 175 new bodies showing up at each training center . (5 I think)They had him scaried poopless ! If You quit under dispatch , they had drilled in his head that they will distroy his carier as a driver . So each time he emted out bang few sec later next dispatch 3 day to go 350 miles . But he was under dispatch ! Said he tried to quit for 4 months ! Said he finaly got stranded in Burns Harbor , to get out from under disp , and wqas able to quit under the rules. Ex giving a 2 week notice ! He had names of about 20 others tring to get them out ! If you are in that boat let someone help you get out ! Best of luck to everyone !

Oh the kick in the head ,the o/o that was training him , his take home was even less most weeks ! If so great why 200% turn over ???
