A company from Karlstad Sweden got an idea of a v8 in to an F12. According to the worker the biggest "problem" was to get the radiator right :D .

How hard would it be with a modern truck and all the electronics? You wouldn't have it done over the weekend that's for sure

Why would it be harder??? It's just some controllboxes, a wiring harness and probably easiest to take the instrument cluster aswell. Could easily be up and running in a week, also Volvo provides quite good schematics over the electric harnesses, Scania to but no as god. But can't see why? The new Volvo vs Scania I take a Volvo all day.
If there is something I hate to work with it is old systems, worthless piece of ####. (carburetors especially if we talk gasoline)

If it were a new truck and it was no bigger than 13 litres I would def be considering the Volvo ( don't think the 6cyl scania is worth the extra money) the 16 litre Volvo engine is problematic , I don't like it at all, in a high mileage 2nd hand truck it would also have to be the scania v8, Volvo cabs are too small also, although I've seen the new one on test and it looks impressive!

I do agree with icee, old technology belongs in the past, technology has made the trucks better to work with and a hell of a lot safer to drive,
