Ive always found it funny how many drivers get caught up in & brag about how many miles the doing. ITS NOT ABOUT HOW MANY MILES YOUR DOING ITS ABOUT HOW MUCH YOUR GETTN PAID TO DRIVE THEM.
imo you should'nt have to do 3500 to 4000 to make a good pay check.
Stay away from ROEHL!!

I've never had to complain about miles while at Roehl. I also have been getting my pay increase every 90 days like clockwork. Although, I will say that I'm averaging about 2800 per week which makes my take home comfy for me without having to work myself to death...LOL!
DrtyDiesel Thanks this. -
Anyone who reads my posts about Roehl knows I'm not a koolaid drinker, I try to be fair and yes I have my rants. With all that said, this is supposed to be about bad trucking companies. Yet even here you find Roehl drivers who at worst are neutral and most are positive about the company. Anyone reading this thread should keep that in mind when considering Roehl. The problems I have with Roehl are strictly a difference of personalities and outlooks. I'm doing a lease/purchase and want to run my business my way. Roehl wants me to run my business for me. That means we are going to butt heads. Overall, they aren't a bad company, just not where I'll end up retiring from.
DrtyDiesel and Meltom Thank this. -
I got an offer letter for Roehl just yesterday....one of the reasons I even asked for the application in the first place was I have been doing alot of research on different carriers and theirs was the only one that I couldnt find anything negative on. I get out of driving school in two weeks and am currently "shopping".

Congrats man,
I just graduated from National Training yesterday. I take my physical on Monday for Roehl, then I start orientation on the 31st. -
The very thing that drives me nuts about Roehl makes them a great company for a new driver. Most loads have plenty of time on them, as an experienced driver I don't like downtime, but for a newby it gives you plenty of cushion so you don't feel pressured to fudge the logs. I like to be given a load and then leave me alone to do my job. For a new driver having a dispatcher who tries to micromanage can be a big help. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Roehl for a new driver.
DrtyDiesel Thanks this. -
Preacher man I couldn't have sed it better myself. The micromanagement is often excessive to say the least
-
Do they micromanage O/O?
Also, do O/O with Roehl use e-logs or paper logs? -
New o/os are on e logs. I would still be on paper but I got in trouble for log violations. For the most part they leave us alone, its not near as bad as they do the company guys

I'm just starting into RDTC soon with no prior experience, and that's about all I'm expecting until after I get my feet wet. I'm not looking to get rich going into this line of work, but I want enough to make a living which I sure wasn't getting in local part time jobs where I was paid (and treated) like another cog in the machine. Don't get me wrong, I'm not looking for the spotlight- just a little respect
DrtyDiesel Thanks this.
