Was at the Camden NJ port picking up pineapple a couple of weeks ago. Two owner ops thought they were just going to drive in the place to pickup at Del Monte... both were turned away because they didn't have a TWIC card. The second one put up a fuss, and left with a couple of cops minus his truck.

If you need into one of the ports that comes under "MARSAT" security, you have to have a TWIC card to get in. The "temporary escort" program is ending, and they aren't making exceptions.

TMC doesn't pull much from ports, "some" steel from a port in IN and that's the only port I saw in 6 months. Now if you pull containers or vans then I can see where it would be a worthwhile investment.

Applied to get my TWIC card today on line. Clicked on the search for the closes office to me here in AZ and it said no location within 250 miles. Anybody get their TWIC card from AZ? if so where did you go to get it?

36% of new drivers wash out in the first 90 days, which also mean 63% make it past 90 days. You have better than a 50/50 chance of making it past 90 days but the numbers are horrid.

Thanks Dirtyjerz, hope to see ya around sometime!

OK, I dont mean to hijack the thread, but.. What is the issue? Drivers or the company? Is it harder than the newbies expect? Personally, I am fully aware of the Hard work and time away involved and ready to give it 110%

I think it's more that they find out they are not really cut out for OTR and being away from family.
