Sent home from SWIFT school

Well the title says it all but it was a big mistake on my part, i think swift could have handled it better.

It started the first day of "school", we went to do our DOT physical its 7am and normally im just going to bed. They give us 4 papers to fill out at the doc office and run thru it faster than a roach when the lights turn on. Well I miss read one of the questions asking about prescriptions I take daily and end up not listing them (My Mistake) no one asked about daily med either...thru the whole process no one said "so you dont take any medication"

The next day we get the Physical back and we are told to look over it, and this time I catch it. I ask to speak with the instructor 1 on 1 and during this time I let her know I miss read the word play and I do in fact take daily meds, one is a acid reducer for acid reflux and the other is a anti depressant but its also used to treat stress witch can cause reflux to be worse and is the reason I take it. She gives me this dirty look and as we walk back into the class room she says " class i know people try to come here and hide the medicine they take cause they are scared they will be kicked out but blah blah blah" I just look dumb founded that I asked for a 1 on 1 and she comes in the class right after we talk and tell everyone more or less....well turns out 3 other people had the same issue.

The next day all 4 of us was pulled out of class and was told to gather everything we brought to class and turn in our books. The guy who over sees the school Chris Adams calls me into his office and tell me im being kicked out for falsification and im banned from ever working for swift for life....

I had to sign a paper, and leave paying for my own ride home. It was on the 3rd day so i didnt owe any money thank god, but really falsification? I'm the one that pointed out my mistake and was willing to pay to have another one done or do what ever it took to get it fixed but they just kick me out.....I have no criminal history, my driving record is squeaky clean, and i was honest about what was going on. I could have not said anything cause the med i take wouldnt have shown in the drug screen but i was trying to do the right thing and they act like I ran someone over in one of their trucks or something.

Its ok tho since then I have went to the DMV and passed all the written test for a class A CDL and I start another school in a week witch I hear is a good school and the company is also a good "starter" company......heard from the same people who tole me to stay away from swift before i attended their school.


I posted this to vent, nothing more. I cannot say anything bad about swift other than IMO i think they could have handled it a little different. I know its no ones fault but my own but im only human and we make mistakes all the time.

 

yeah i see that now, its just weird to me how they worked so hard to get the people that are convected felons and they treat them like kings. Good people get #### on. There was even a older lady in that class that had a waiver from her doc to take zanex (spelling) 3 times a day and hydrocondine once a day. Swift was fine with that...wtf

Im looking into 3 companys as of now, usa truck, pam, and CR England so far usa looks like the way i will go. thanks any way fellas good luck to you and be safe.
