Stores have a 30 day return policy. From day one you can call Rand Tech Support. Prices are the same as online via a dealer or at a store. If the price is not right on the display have them scan it.

If everything is equal, then why are the Travel Centers being given a marketing advantage over the Authorized On-Line Retailers ... the ones that are listed on Rand McNally's web site? Is Rand McNally picking "winners & losers" ... and giving preferential treatment to certain Authorized Retailers and not others?

(Mark, remember you posted the information, touted the promo, and posted those Travel Centers offering the promo ... not anyone else. So it was you that opened up this "can of worms".)

 

This was put out by the Marketing department. They have worked with the travel centers with this promo.

No one is picking winners or losers and not giving preferential treatment to anyone.

Just like some sales that some stores put out are on-line only and no box store offers it or the stores offer in house sales that you cannot get on-line

Mark, not to argue with you ... as you have said ... "You are just the messenger". However, this is NOT an promo created by a retailer ... this is a promo created by Rand McNally. And I can tell you, none of the Authorized On-Line Retailers ...

Now if that is not picking winners & losers ... then I don't know what is.

I applaud Rand McNally for creating this promo ... as it benefits the trucker and keeps the TND Series competitive in the market.

Hopefully, Rand will get this straightened out ... because its the consumer that wants to buy their driver a gift and does not have a travel center near by that is losing out. And there are many wives and families that fall into that category.

 

It was an oversight and has been remedied.

All authorized dealers are included in the promo now.

Mark, you just need to trust some folks sometimes ... when they say that interesting news is forthcoming.

So there are really 3 players offering Lifetime Map Updates

 

This is a marketing item. I just posted what was asked of me by marketing. If any on-line dealers has issues I suggest they contact their sales rep.

This is not a issue of what to trust or waiting for interesting news. Some things happened behind the scenes that I am privvy to and some things happen I am not privvy to. I was not part of this promo.

I have my personal thoughts on things, but this is one issue I am staying out of. I did voice my thoughts before I posted about the selection of whom was involved in the promo, but I am R&D, not marketing.

So, your voice was heard and I am glad.

Again, I am just the messenger.

Now, lets get back to R&D.

Hi, will the RM 510 allow you to set your own route, or will it just recalculate from their installed programs?

 

You can add "via's, POI's or just move the map around to where you want to set your via.
