Maybe because you cannot be as "funny" with your "comic book".

Cuts down on the creative writing...:yes2557:

Well that figures coming from and "inforcement/compliance" view... Now once again I will ask you " How do they make me safer" if all they do is reduce falsification ? Oh BTW if I never cheat in my paper log and I go over to E-log ...How do I just now become a safer driver ? Oh maybe I can answer this myself..THEY HAVE NOTHING TO WITH SAFETY !!!! so stop lying to drivers about why they need them !!!

Maybe you dont cheat on paper but most do. It isn't all about you. It's about the industry as a whole. You can't deny the fact that log violations do go down with a EOBR.

Well that's not 100% accurate, they have LITTLE to do with safety. However by following the HOS and staying compliant, you generally get more rest. This should make you a bit safer. But I would agree with you that eLogs do not actually make you safer, just help the company force compliance.

Its much safer when your held up at the shipper and only have 15 min to find a parking spot so you have to speed thru town so you dont get a violation. Much, much safer. Shippers are all about makeing sure they know how much time you have.:biggrin_2559:

Thats your fault for speeding, not the EOBR's. If you log paper legally, a EOBR won't make a difference over paper.

That's the biggest myth in the industry . the amount of off duty time a driver gets has nothing to do with the amount of rest he gets .
Some companies need e-logs because some of their drivers can fool the safety department when they falsify logs but they can't fool the FMCSA auditor .
