I've posted this before but it seems apropos, a friend working for FFE was asked to make a run, he said he didn't have the hours and was told, "you make the run, we'll take care of the hours"...
Why CSA 2010 and E-Logs are a good thing.

But I agree EOBR's aren't any better .Elvenhome21 and volvodriver01 Thank this. -
You can sugar coat it all you want. There's no excuse to run illegal. There's no excuse to jeopardize the lives of other motorists on the road because you selfishly want to make a couple extra dollars. -
There will always be drivers willing to run illegal and there will always be companies willing to hire them.
If this economic downturn has shown us anything, it's how easy you can shut down one company and open another.
Besides, the majority of drivers out there are O/O, L/O or run for one of them...one or two person operations. There is just no competent way to monitor them.
The enforcement operation of the DOT is there to raise money. Safety is just a byproduct.
It's easier to elicit money from larger operations than ma and pa companies.
And before someone flames me...I run legal, follow the rules and train my students to be legal.
But what is...IS! -
Elvenhome21 and DieselJuice Thank this.

longbedGTs, NightWind, cableclown and 3 others Thank this.

Quit being selfish. The EOBR enforcement policies can't be forced on a select few. They have to be forced on everyone. If you run legal, then what's your problem? What are you scared of? You no longer have the choice to lie on your logs. Is that your problem? Then cry me a river.Emulsified Thanks this. -
