JCW says that his trainer has been driving for over 10 years, so what was the case then, isn't applicable anymore.

Thanks DTB..I'll wait and find out tomorrow!

WHEW! Missouri DOT decided my Maine CDL-A permit was OK!! I should get my ID badge at 8:00 AM Friday!!!
Then about 8 of us, who are done with pre-trip training and simulators(we came with permits) will be going to the pad to practice the Pre-Trip inspection. Primes pre-trip training is FANTASTIC(at least for passing the test). Those 8 of us will be testing out Saturday morning for the pre-trip PRIOR to leaving with an instructor. The rest of the class will test out Sunday. I haven't been assigned an instructor yet. That may be due to the fact that I "dip"..lol.
Our PSD class started with 55. There are about 16-18 of us left. There are a few still waiting on sleep tests, but they are all willing to purchase a CPAP if needed. I feel like I have really accomplished something and am as excited as a kid waiting on Christmas.
From an "old school" OTR trucker with over 1 million miles from "back in the day" under my belt, I will tell you this. Prime Inc. is one heck of a top shelf, class, operation. Sure there are glitches and burps in the process, but when you consider the complexity of getting qualified to drive a CMV, that's to be expected.
If your considering an OTR CDL-A driving CAREER, why go anywhere else other then Prime. It does NOT get any better then this!!! Again my deepest thanks to those peeps who have posted here(both good and bad). I owe ya'll! Coffee's on me if we ever meet out on the road!
Sorry again for the looooong post. I'll shorten em up in the future!
I promise! lol

Only 16 or so left. Where did they go.????????

Never Mind I should have read back a bit

Ahh that ain't your fault! I have been told I am just a tad bit "wordy" more then a few times...lol!
It's a little weird here at the Inn now. Seems so empty compared to just 4 days ago. But I'm enjoying the alone time for now..... -
Just a SHORT recap of tips from my experience so far as a PSD:
- Make sure you have all your required paperwork when you come to Orientation. If you have questions, ask your recruiter.
- Make sure you can pass the Prime(mainly the DOT's) medical requirements, eg: BP, vision, PULSE RATE(a few were sent home for being over the legal rate) etc. If you have med issues, talk to your recruiter for guidance.
- Make sure you put EVERYTHING down on your online application and then make sure it matches your paper application you fill out at orientation. Prime isn't looking for Boy Scouts, but they require Honesty. The guy from NJ who had the "bad" Birth Cert, cleared that but was sent home from something weird that would only show up on an FBI database.
- DO NOT BE LATE FOR ANY CLASS UNLESS EXCUSED BY AN INSTRUCTOR! Couple of folks sent packing for being late multiple times.
- Act professional while your here all the time. Your being evaluated during your entire orientation.
- If your worried about passing the drug test, then you probably shouldn't go through the program. I'm not passing judgement about that issue, just saying you won't make it through the program. If your doing illegal drugs you really shouldn't be driving a CMV.
DenaliDad Thanks this. -
Also, there is a STRICT no alcohol policy. Several were sent home while JCW was at SpringMO for his initial orientation in July.

ask my last trainee what happened to him after I dropped him off for upgrade.
He was escorted out of his room by Prime Security. They cleaned out a large garbage bag full of bottles and cans. They allowed him to sober up before dropping him off at the bus station with no job, and no ticket.
