There is a terminal in Eden, NC. You might try checking there.

thanks all...yep baker you are right but the only blood running thru my veins is pure tn...the two good things i hear about them so far is the school is not far from my hometown and the other is they do not have as many complaints as cre...i know they all have their bad reps but i have to start somewhere...have to close my business down due to a storm we had where i am living for now in nc....i will either be moving to fayetteville nc or back around a town called kenton tn, north of jackson...

I knew Schneider recruits worldwide and used to hire all the immigrants the law allowed until all these CDL mill graduates showed they were willing to work cheaper .

So Rick...where did you start out in trucking? Chauffeurs license at a small out fit and grandfathered into the CDL? Maybe taught by somone close to you? Who knows. I am just curious.

Some of us didn't have that type of luxury of hiring on with a small company and proving ourselves when the times and insurance rates for new drivers allowed that type of scenario. Those days are LONG GONE brother. Local mom and pops won't hire without at least a year OTR and you can't get that at many places other than starter companies.

Some of us lost our jobs in a devistating economy (as was my case after 30 years in the same industry and 15 with the same company) and decided to invest in a career moving freight. The options are limited. In my case pay over 7 grand to go to a private school or pay less than 4 grand interest free to be trained by Swift and get hired by Swift. It was the best scenario for me and it worked okay. I was able to be at work in less than a month and was driving solo in less than three. No tickets. No accidents. Never backed into anything...not even once.

Call me whatever you desire but I really have lost patience with people who visit these threads and offer "newbies" nothing of substance. No help, no words of advice. Just "super trucker cb BS chatter."

I feel much better now that I have that off of my chest. :biggrin_2556:

Backing into a dock is alright as long as you stop before the water! :biggrin_25522:
