When I went in it was just the written. I had a Ca license and moved to TX, so changed back to a TX license. When I got hired with Prime my wife moved back to Ca close to her mother to help with little one, so I decided to attempt to transfer lic back to Ca and they wanted a fee and re take the written. So I told them I would rather give my tax dollars to TX , oh TX has mo income tax kiss my **&*?&#%&$, Ca. I still have a residence in TX thank God.

Thanks for the reply U2, wasn't really too concerned about the reasons why, I was more interested in if I would get delayed if I waited. Not a big deal though, going to get there one way or another. I've been doing the office thing for far too long and it's time to get back out there. The sooner the better! A bad day on a truck is better than a great day behind a desk. Roll safe all.

Prime's policy is to keep MVR records valid for only 30 days. My guess is they won't redo your employment verification unless something pops up. My recruiter told me not to submit the formal application until I have a good "available" date for those reasons.

Hey IP, did you get my PM? I tried to respond to you when you sent your last one to me but it wouldn't let me.

Your first year as a driver is all about stress, frustration, and learning how the business works. I'm not sure what you pull is nearly as important as your ability and willingness to pull it. You have to go where you think your best future is--money is part of it, of course, but it's not the whole enchilada. Whatever you do, stay with your first employer one full year. You might have a tough time getting a second one if you don't. You will be tested and get frustrated and will want to dismember representatives of your employer slowly at times, but stick with it. It's part of the world you want to get into.

    Good luck to you.

Prime has three divisions: reefer, tanker and Flatbed. Reefer pays the least, but should get the most miles. From what Ive read reefer starts out at 33cpm + the extra 5cpm for drivin a cute truck. Not sure what tanker starts out at. Flatbed starts at 36cpm, n no cute truck. Flatbed also gets extras reefer and tanker doesnt get. You can make around the same in any division, atleast thats what Ive been told. How much you make depends on you, your FM, and available freight, weather n traffic...etc.
