Good luck with your plans. I look forward to reading about your progress. -
Hello Everyone.
Good things come to those who wait.
Sorry I've been a little quiet, but after spending a night in Laredo, I was given a 1700 mile back haul to Hagerstown, MD. The best that I could have hoped for. Warehouse to DC.Can't ask for much more than 3000 plus miles and 6 days.
I delivered early this AM, and have been asked to do a night run into New Jersey, so I'm at the Pilot getting ready to get in some rack time so I can at least try to stay awake tonight. The load will be ready at 0100 and delivers at 0700. Not a big run, but you take them all. They add up.
My latest thrill was participating in the supper time dash north bound on I81 in VA, at night with about 40 other trucks and 100 cars. Through the hills, road construction, and city interchanges it was something to see, for me anyway. Nothing reckless just..............impressive. Tip of the hat and a bow to all participants.
That's the latest and the greatest.
Thanks for reading.
-WedgeSpacecoast and sammycat Thank this. -

Sammycat, it was cool and windy in Laredo, definitely jacket weather. It was warmer in Orange, TX on I10. Had the A/C on.
Now that I'm up north, there's that late autumn coolness I remember when I lived in CT.
I don't mind the cold, but I prefer the warmer temps. Must have something to do with me approaching decrepitude.sammycat Thanks this. -

I was thinking about you today. Haven't heard a word out of you.
I had some glitches with the truck, all minor, but time consuming from a driver's perspective. Most problems have been solved, but I'm still having a problem with this Driver Tech. Everything works with the exception of its ability to record miles driven. So I'm using my GPS for that task until I can put in to our Shippensburg, PA terminal. They've been working on the truck and seem to have a knowledgeable crew when it comes to this DT.
These past 2 weeks have been great for miles. The run to TX and back was great. And now there always seems to be a preplan waiting before I deliver. I like that.
I like the night shift. Less traffic (except for the critters) and no problem finding a parking spot at a TS when you take your 10....lol.
I'm trying to get home this weekend. If it works, I'll call you.
Stay safe out there, my friend. -
That your first time to Laredo? Like a different country huh?! My wife hated going there. Used to haul glass bottles out of there to Cali vineyards.
Sounds like your still chuggin along pretty good Wedge! I have thought about being a recruiter for a school from time to time but I don't think I could mislead people just to make money. Plus they would probably fire me after a month for not referring everyone to either Swift or Werner!
Wedge Thanks this. -

Hey Denalidad, why does it say "Wheel dog" under your name? Haven't heard that before. Did I miss something? Don't remember that as a level of posts.
