I have always been realistic, I know that living in Florida, if you want to go home at all it is going to cut into your paycheck. I have never been one to whine and complain if I didn't get alot of miles.
Every driver has different things that are important to them when they consider going to a company. My big things are HOMETIME, good equipment, and being able to idle freely to be comfortable on the road.
So I will gladly sacrifice miles to get to go home WHEN I want to because I think IMHO if you stay out weeks at a time that means you basically have no life! Why work all the time if you don't have free time to enjoy your money?
I have no family left, they all passed away when I was a young man so I will be working the holidays in hopes that by me staying out maybe another driver gets to go home to be with his family for the holidays.
One thing that losing my family has taught me is that life is too short to be working all the time and not take time to enjoy yourself and have fun!
So I try to go home every 2 weeks and I know that its not easy for JBS to get me home, but it shouldn't be IMPOSSIBLE either!................![]()

I'm on dedicated regional but and I'm off every sunday but I'm working way to many hours every week with no pay. Just last week I worked 24 hrs(unld-loadin). I work 58 to 65 hrs mon through sat to bring home average 1200 every 2 weeks just to have sun off. Imo its just to much work for the $ having to deal w/pilgrims day in day out. I actually don't have but a few problems w/ jbs. I have a lot of miles goin home that they don't pay, lack of maintenance on trucks and espescially trls. If I have a prob with my trk I have to get in another one that's so nasty I don't want to even move it much less live in it for a week or 2. I know some of yall will scoff at my gripe but yall deal w/pilgrims a couple of weeks first.
