That's frightening.

Could it be something they use as a yard truck? IIRC, they stopped marketing the Argosy in the US circa 2002 or 2003... quite a bit older than what Swift would typically have on the road.
-
There are still a few floating around. Not yard trucks, either.
-
Kinda doubt they go very far and wide, considering the age and the small sleeper. I'm sure there's a viable reason they keep them, especially since there are no COEs marketed in N. America anymore.
-
I saw a total of 3 active Argosy cabovers, 2 hooked to active trailers, and 1 bobtail with a driver sleeping in it. I'm sure that there is more, just what I saw while @ Lathrop.

Freightliner stopped selling the Argosy in the US/Canadian markets in 2007. It is still in production in Cleveland NC, for export at the moment.
The 2011 Argosy being shipped to Austrialia is equipped with the new DD15 Detroit Diesel with a exhaust particulate trap as required there now, and will be equipped with a DEF system next.
Go to the Freightliner site for the Austrialian market for full details and pictures. -
There are some customers in Norcal that are located in areas that are overall length restricted. The only way a you are legal with a 53 foot trailer is with a cabover. I've also seen them in Troutdale.

about 70% of trucks in New Zealand would be cabovers ,8x4 configeration suits our weight restrictions and kilometer rates better,kw cabovers 100 and new 200s popular, now bonneted 8x4s getting seen more

I see a lot of new ones at a terminal either pheonix or laredo can't remember the exact one but I was surprise to see them. Guess they have to do what they have to do and use what they have to use to service all customers.
