I take it you already used your $210 that Schneider puts on the card every Sunday for an advance? If not, then i would do that and then when they settle your pay for the lumpers it will all work out and you will have some cash in your pocket.

I have been with schneider for close to a year now and to tell you the truth i almost died because of there trucks out in penn. It was cold outside and i was driving down the highway and the steering wheel link broke and lost control of the truck and the trailer hit the wall and tractor hit the guard rail and the tractor was hanging over the cliff. I have had the steering linkage fixed four times before that and never offered me or after a request of a new truck or loaner was denied i was stuck with that truck and really they dont care if u die trying to get the load there. All what they care about is there money which i was doing teams and they gave us so many air miles when we have the mileage written down in the pumpkin pad they just mess with ur money and dont care about home time really. I put in for a request home and i wont be home until three weeks after i put in for it i now lost my wife and kids because they dont care about ur life or family all what they want is for u to live ur life on the road no sorry. I left the company after that accident and to top it all off they blamed me for it even though i sent in the macro 6 saying the power needed repair really schneider is ok to get the experience that u need but watch out for there crappy powers that they have. I am now working at a better company trying to get my life back together now because of all that bull crap.

I am praying that some one will clarify this post for me. What I did/do seem to understand other than the obvious is that maybe Schneider should do what Werner does & stick the gigantic "This truck requires a pre trip inspection everyday" sticker on the door so that drivers don't forget that the Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Pre-Trip Inspection is not a joke:
I memorized that for the Steering Boxto check for any missing, damaged, or broken parts; and that it is securely mounted also checking the power steering hoses for leaks or damage.
When checking the Steering Linkage look at all the connecting links, arms and rods from the steering box to the wheels for worn, cracked, bent, or damaged parts also checking the joints and sockets for worn, loose, or missing parts and that the cotter pins are present.
But then again I'm no -
I agree, If you had that many problems with the steering linkage, I would check everytime before driving . Don't teams usually stay out longer?
Hope things get back on track for ya. -
why did you drive a truck that you knew had a steering linkage problem??
My truck is broke, they fix it, or I don't drive it. Never had any problems, if I tell them there is a problem, they fix it asap. -
I did do a pre trip everytime i got behind the wheel and the problem was faulty made parts and yes teams are out from 2 to a whole month out and my dbl was a complete pain and didnt care about anything but the losds and yes i went hire up to get stuff solved but they said that it was my fault the linkage kept breaking but it kept breaking in the box so how the hell is that my fault when it was a team truck me personally im glad im out cuz i am now have a dedicared account with there compediture and yes i am half asleep writting this

I am sorry guys I am new here, and somewhat confused. What does schneider start an entry level driver at?

As long as these rate cutters ( this includes ALL TL carriers ) keep paying 1990 wages this trend will continue.....All trucking companies pay basically the same for trucks...insurance and permits...For the rate cutters...like Schneider...Werner and others....this leaves very little money for maintenance and driver wages...Maintenance...wages...benefits and safety are some of the reasons drivers join Teamsters...If drivers would stick together at these companies....they would be paid and treated better...Until they do...the " brown nosers will get the best loads and get screwed the least....The rest will get shafted
