Yes training does suck. When I was a phase 1 trainer I had all kinds of issues with students. One out of three students I had would be dropped off by the end of their first week because of attitude or unsafe behavior.

This is my second stint with C.R. England. I trained and worked for them in 2001 and left them due to my own personal reasons - having NOTHING to do with the way C.R. England treated me.

My original CDL license expired about five years ago. Thus, I must re-train and re-test. I have passed all the exams and will be going through the first phase of training beginning next week.

I have always felt that C.R. England was an outstanding school and an outstanding company to work for. I had never had any complaints and I still have no complaints.

If it were a poor company to train and work for.... I wouldn't be doing it for a second time. Except this time.... I'm much more squared away with my personal issues.

Hopefully this does help. I realize that there's a lot of negative comments, but you're going to find the negative people in any company, or organization that you choose to find employment with. This statement includes ANY industry, any job title, or any line of profession. There are people out there that are just pessimistic people and that's just the way they are. A person against their will is of the same opinion still.

If you take a look at your Army experience.... you know the type of people I am writing about. The Army is a huge organization and I'll bet you probably heard several negative comments before you joined, and while you were active duty. It's the very same for ANY company.

I will write that I was happy with C.R. England back in 2001 and am even more impressed with the training that I have recently attended through this past two weeks.

Just keep me on your watch list.... read the comments that I will post on a regular basis. And, if you're interested.... request "Friend" through this website.

Hope this helps and good luck in your choices!! :biggrin_25520:

Yep...."Rah-Rah...siss boom bah..and all that..I am going out RIGHT NOW and leasing a truck from CRE...I am going to make MILLIONS...and then after 2 whole weeks, I will be a driver TRAINER, because after all, due to my highly superior attitude and training I will know it ALL and then it's all the big bucks for me after that !!

I know the OP's post is old, but lets get some facts straight:

Yes, you can be a Phase 2 trainer the moment you pick up a lease truck. Phase II training isn't meant to teach a student how to drive. It is meant to teach a student how to be a IC. You should know how to drive when you pass Phase I. Phase I is about fine tuning a students driving skills. Phase II is fine tuning the students ability to trip plan, log, etc. You are technically not a trainer on Phase II. A Phase II student is a 2nd seat company driver.

Safety does not take a sidestep. CRE teaches the material needed for drivers to be safe and productive, on a relentless basis. The problem is that drivers don't apply what is taught. You can preach your drivers about safety all day every day, and still have accidents because you're still at the mercy of the drivers ability to apply what is taught.

THBATMAN8 is a reputation defender for CRE. Do not let him have any of your personal information. His whole purpose on this site is damage control. He works for CRE corporate, and he's FULL of it.
