When your $10,000 fine is issued for use of a NON CERTIFIED CB remember what I said ASK for the TITLE 47 Part 95. XXX defining non certified CB ?

You are incorrect. I'm assuming you mean "CB" to mean 11-meters. Just owning an export radio by a ham is enough to have your ticket taken away.

Sale of an export radio in the US is illegal. It doesn't matter if it's modded for 11-meters or not. You ham guys (which I'm not) should know that. If you're caught with a Magnum 257 and the FCC wants to be pricks about it, you will lose the radio, lose your ticket and get a fine.

All of the bickering on here and what I got from it is that all certified radios are CBs but not all "CBs" are certified.

I run a Galaxy DX55HP that I ordered as a straight 10 meter radio and modified myself. It's a good radio and has better ears than most of these highly modified truckstop radios.

Not So! A licensed Amateur radio operator may have, posssess, and USE any kind of a radio, including so-called "10 Meter 'export' radios" ON the amateur bands. Period! In, fact, he can use ANY sort of a radio, even a TOASTER, if he can get it to transmit without causing interference in accordance with Part 97, US Code. The use of amateur transceivers has NOTHING whatsoever to do with CB radio which is covered under Part 95 of the same Code. They are two different things. Now, if the ham USES, or converts the "10 Meter" radio ON 11 Meters, THEN he AND the CBer are guilty of using an uncertified transceiver on those frequencies and is subject to that $10,000 fine and may, moreover, be subject to revocation of his amateur license. The two services have NOTHING whatever to do with each other.
