My problem is too much time on those dumpy 435 mile loads. If I could get five of those a week I would be quite happy. Roehl is a training company so they are built for new drivers. Experienced, independent thinking drivers are not going to be happy.
Stay away from ROEHL!!

where did the fun go? -
It's work, it's not supposed to be fun.

Oh yeah, a camera in my truck, spying on me, are you serious? That would last a fraction of a minute.

Seriously, if not for money, you certainly have something better to do with your life than hang out here defending a company you no longer work for. -
-
Am I actually defending them? I was just curious if you actually gave it more than 15 days of driving. I've read your other posts and it seems like your issues are legit, however I don't care what company your with. If you just ship as soon as things start to get rough without so much as trying to correct the ship you are as much to blame as the company. So I'm hoping I just misread that ad you actually given this some time.
-
You worked for them 15 days. You averaged 436 miles per trip. So how many trips did you make? You say you didn't have time to eat or shower. You get a 10 hour break out of every 24, what were you doing on your break?

They've hammered me. I mean, everything is new and they don't let up. One might think they'd allow a guy to learn the system before putting the screws to him. It seems "breaking me in" has been first priority, ensuring this good soldier does exactly what he's told, when he's told, and the way he's told.
You know the deal on Thanksgiving, it's cold, impersonal and inefficient- had they taken care of me I'd have more than made it up to them. But then, what do vulcans know about Thanksgiving, right?
It just seems like a general lack of respect for people, tremendous arrogance in the management. "The Roehl Way". The business model, take guys out of McDonalds, teach them to drive a truck and program them like putty in your hands. In orientation they made it clear, the inexperienced guys were not to talk to us experienced guys about trucking.
Me? Change this corporate culture? Sometimes I have ego issues, but not that big. Oftentimes you can find someone in an organization, some guy described this as some old lady in tennis shoes, just someone you could identify with, someone who could "feel you". It just seems like here it's get a bigger hammer.
I just wanted both an income AND a life (home time)
