Listened to him a bit. Mostly I've heard people calling into Covino & Rich saying they took a dump in Covino's mom's fish tank and then give a hearty RED DRAGONS when they hang up. Pretty funny stuff.

i would have rather gone to that cave then what i had to deal with to get on dock 9 at mt zero!!!!!!! that was an absolute nightmare! and the #### yard dog couldve put in there for me, but he was an ### to say the least...a 53' reefer with a sleeper cab had absolutly no room in there! i barely got it docked straight enough after at LEAST a 150pnt back...ugh

lol...its a cave in.....AR i think...try to remember back in 07. i was delivering shredded cheese. the forklift guy that opened the gate for me, told me to go to dock . well, there was no dock 9 on the outside docks. so i asked someone where it was. he said, oh no, not out here, in there.... i was like, are you kidding me? is my truck going to fit in there?!!?!?! so i asked what the best way of getting int here was since there were 3 docks in there and of course the pillars. first set of directions had me all snaked up to a dead end and had to snake blind back out.... then went back in and like i said, had to do a least a 150pnt back to get on the dock.... to avoid the pillar and wall. i was referring to the pics someone posted of the other cave...id much rather dock in that one lol

That's always fun isn't it? Taking a look at it and thinking "oh good Lord how am i gonna get in there?" And then when you get it in without destroying anything its such a relief. Come back to some of those places in a few years when you have more experience and you might wonder why you had so much trouble before.

I love it when someone gives me directions to a place and they tell me how tight it is backing into the dock and when I get there I'm like "You're kidding, right? This is nothing!"

Not letting yourself get intimidated in close quarters goes a long way. Helps you to think clearly when you're not scared or nervous. The way I look at it is that you have as much time as you need to back into a door but only a split second to hit something. I'd rather take all the time I need.

EXACTLY! i dont get nervous. i train al my students to just stay calm, you have as much time as you need, and turn your cb off!! dont listen to the nagging impatiant drivers. rather do it right the first time then make a huge mistake and make it worse for yourself.

I delivered under a mall with a 53' trailer in a daycab but, when u were done unloading the only way to get out was either to go straight and hope that your landing gear clears the ground because of the way it was designed you have to come out of the tunnel and there is a bank that sits right there, so sometimes the drive thru is backed up so u have to wait to get out but u also have to avoid hitting the drive thru over hang with your tractor and trailer. There is also post in the ground to protect the bank that you can't see when turning out because as soon as u exit the tunnel its a curve that the landing gear gets hung up on because the ground is raised up. I wish I could show you'll a pic of the place but one time I got hung up on the ground with my landing gear and had to back up and hit the gassssssss and basically just gun it without hitting the ppl and traffic that comes in and out of this mall !!.
After that hang up I just started to back my trailer down the tunnel to get back out , make a u turn and exit. The mall is I'm Capital heights,md..... I think its called the Iverson mall on Branch ave Rt5..

a place where i delivered siran wrap powder to was like that. originaly for straight trucks and had to back into these bays there the beams outside were not alligned with the dock so you practically scrapped the one side and had a football field width on the other and you cant see inside the bay...and it goes down on an slant. i scraped the crap out of my trailer skirts, thank goodness they were not the alluminum ones, id have to remove them before going in..but it was liek nails on a chalk board listening to them scrap....lol
