Weirdest place to deliver?

Every delivery to the Pentagon Mall in Arlington,VA? That is another fun one. 48' trailer with a sleeper, blind side into the docks and HOPE you don't hit a piler or another truck. Fun times.

 

sounds like that dang place in Laredo where we swap out load with mexicans with tomatoes. marettios or something...that place is a joke, by the time you dock and if you havent hit a bumper, mirror or the wall infront of you, then you have to crawl out of your window to get out lol....literally unless you are a toothpick lol

 

I think the weirdest would be flatbed loads of stone from quarry to quarry in PA- roads that will make you hold on tight, that's for sure. And the mountain people..... that's a whole story in itself

I've delivered equipment to some odd logging camps in Northern Maine as well. You have to chain all your drive tires, and cross streams and a few smallish rivers on ice bridges. Then usually you take a load of logs out with you. It's hard on the paint- our trucks are all older, so it's no big deal, but I saw a guy with a very new Pete in there once, and he could not have been a happy camper...

 

I have been to the Pentagon before , not the mall but the actual Pentagon and it wasn't bad once I was cleared to go in after the fourth attempt .

 

lol i bet. i moved here to PA in july and i drive a 4wheeler down some of these rds and think to myself, "thank goodness im not in the truck!" lol

 

Ripleys believe it or not in Ocean city ,md with a 48' trailer and day cab. This guy had a roll of carpet being delivered for Ripleys and told me that I had to pull up the street,turn in a parking lot between two builds and then back out on to the same street and back down to their dock !!.... I know you never listen to customers without checking out the area 1st but I was tired and I was going on 12hrs at work.
It just so happen to be storming really bad that day, ocean city was actually being evactuated when I arrived but the police let me go and make the delivery anyway. Back to what happened, so I pull in this parking lot and realize that well I'm stuck and the guy was like can hurry up so I can go home or can u pull the roll of carpet off and help me carry it to the store ?! I said u got me into this so u gonna wait !! I'm trying to back out but I got cars on both sides of me in this parking lot and a car on the street that I don't want to hit. The leaves and didn't help me back out when this guy out of nowhere comes up to me and just smiles and directs me out of the lot without saying one word !!
When I finally get out I turn to tell the guy thanks but he vanishes !! I mean gone !! This guy was wearing shorts with a short sleeve shirt wearing sandals in the pouring rain.... til this day I don't know where the guy went that fast because it was buildings on each side of this street and we were a half a block from the main rd !!!!

 

wow! Lord works in mysterious ways! ive gotten into spots by myself that i have no idea how i stayed calm enough to get out lol...

Picked up a load of beans just outside of Lewiston ID once in a OTR w/ a 53' dry van, got there and the guy said sorry but you will have to use the sh@# dock, his words not mine. blind side ending up at a pefect 90 with my front mirror folded in so it didn't hit the fence, the door mirror was tall enough to clear. There was a wall on the drivers side, a post holding the roof up on the passengers side, a fence in the front, and it was pot holed and muddy dirt to boot. Had to open the drvrs side door first, and half way thru the pass side door, and when you were done you could only get out the pass door. Took me about 20 times to get it in, had to be perfect, within inches at the start. This was a few years back and I hear they did finally close the dock because people kept hitting things doing it, what a suprise!
Has anybody been to the underground dock at the Phoenix convention center lately? Last time I was there it was under construction and it took me almost an hour to worm my way in there, coulda used some lube to squeek the trlr in, there were four of us and we all pitched in spotting the sides of the rigs. Hope it's better now.

 

You were delivering chemical weapons, I think they were called bigeyes to be destroyed, at least thats what they told me. It's actually in UT.
