    Here's your answer my friend....

How buddy buddy can you be?

As buddy, buddy as you're comfortable with. My wife, myself, and several other friends go out with our "gay" friends to "gay" bars. He goes out with us...to straight bars.

We actually find the "gay" community to be more fun to party with. They aren't as uptight/anal as the "standard" bunch of drunk idiots you find out at night.

While the actions of the few (I seen that comment earlier) have effect on the group as a whole. Many in the gay community just want to be left alone, and enjoy their lives. Just like we do. They don't wear signs, they don't stand on the street corner shouting their sexual needs to the world.

We have never been shown the least bit of disrespect at any club we have gone to. Most there view us (my wife and me) as a couple. Many of the men, dance with my wife, many of the women dance with both of us. Sorry, I don't dance with men.

With that said, I stated earlier, that I never discuss homosexuality with my friend....period. Have no desire to. He's good with it. But we do discuss cars, hunting, motorcycles, and believe it or not....women. He may be gay, but he still knows what a good looking woman looks like.

He has come to my home for cook outs with my family. And we have went to his home. My youngest daughter adores him....aka she thinks he's hot ;) Which by the "standards" I guess he is, he's a body builder and financial wiz. Old money.

The ONLY item concerning his sexuality that we have discussed in the past 10 years. His inability to live with his "lover". His family plainly stated they would cut him off.... and he stands to lose a lot of $$

Back to the original poster.... I still stand on my original statements...What does announcing your gay, bring to your training period? Why do you feel compelled to ask for a gay trainer? And most of all, what does your announcing you're gay, have to do with learning to drive a truck?

Very well said danc, I can't believe this thread has made it to 7 pages, I've tried to watch it, I figured it would get pretty ugly in here, but I have to say, that even though there are some really strong opionions on this subject, most everyone has kept a tight lid on it. I think that goes to show you, he'll be fine as long as he just does his job and learns what he needs to learn - stays off his soap box and becomes a truck driver. I still wonder though why he hasn't come back on - I can only hope that he was sincere in his question and not just looking for some weird attention getter. I wish him the best of luck in his trucking career.

My kinda guy! Pity I have already done my training, otherwise I would come and get trained by you and work for Trans Am!
Training is about imparting knowledge and not about creed, colour, personal choices...

Why on earth would you think it's "hilarious" that I have a gay sister? And if sexual remarks are all you can come up with when talking with someone, I would take a look at your conversation skills. I'm not "buddy buddy" with my sisters gay friends, but I said I "get along fine" with them. There are a zillion things to have in common with someone besides sexual preferences. This is a sex obsessed society we live in. I try to rise above that from time to time.

That is just the way it is. It's what most men talk about at some point during a conversation. Didn't say that you had to like it, just the truth. Your really not who my post was directed at. I just find it bizarre that almost everyone out there has a gay friend, a black friend, a Hispanic friend and an alien friend. See now we're all PC.
I do not have a gay friend nor will I ever. It's the same reason that men and women cannot truly be friends. I know people will yell and scream about this but ladies, just give your guy friend a chance. Give him one shot to get you in bed and lets see how far you "friendship" goes. Same thing for a gay friend. Just one chance and he will jump at it. Really think about it, I know it's not PC but it's the truth.

    BTW Vulcan that was funny.

I'll agree that I never was interested in too many female friends. Either we is or we ain't is pretty much how I look at it with single women. I do agree that women and men have a real hard time keeping the sexual tension out of the picture. And trust me, if you knew me, you would know that being Politically Correct is the LAST thing I'm interested in. I think were raising a generation of wimps myself. I'm a white guy and I don't have any black friends nor do I have any Hispanic friends. There, you feel better now?

I've met only one of my sister's Lesbian friends that I thought was worth actually knowing as a a true friend and it's because sex or sexual preference isn't the only thing on her mind. She is an actual Human Being who you can sit around and have a beer with and shoot the breeze about any number of topics. She's not a man hater.
