So i failed the stupid CDL learners permit. In order for me to keep my sanity i need to know if anybody else had trouble with any tests. I studied the manual but i think i just froze when i got to the dmv. in nebraska you take a possible of 50 questions. Get 40 right first and the test ends. Get 11 wrong first and the tests ends. I got 11 wrong and only took 44 questions. The questions were so general a #### monkey could of passed. I must be lower than a monkey. any stories similar like mine would be great. Or if you just want to poke fun at the dumb guy, that's cool too.
Embarassed to ask....

Have one, and only one, beer before you go in next time.
relaxes you just enough.
Just don't breath on the test moderator. -
If he lives anywhere near where I live in NE, that beer could get him in a LOT of trouble.
My son tried to take his permit test too and failed it. Said that most of what he missed had more to do with the buses.
I wish you luck.
Hubby always hated the Hazmat test. -
do they or how often do they change the questions on the tests, i will be going back in the morning to take it again.

Hi there. Sounds to me like you have the same problem I do when it comes to tests. I totally freeze! SOoooooooooo, I'll embarrass myself and tell you what I did! Keep in mind that I had been working for 3 months night shift 12 hours per night so was going in on zombie mode lol. I first failed the combination, so had to retake that and yes, it was the stupid questions that got me. Our tests are broken up in 5 (if i remember correctly) batteries. I had to go back in the next morning on even less sleep and somehow passed it. They do change our test questions every time we take them and they're on a computer.
Next, I have to take the air brake test and yes, it's seperate from the actually driving test. I didn't have a truck with me for that one but was meeting someone to take it on their truck. I get in the truck, it's so totally different from mine that I can't even think clearly enough to start the darn thing for many, many minutesok, so pass that test and still another trip back for the driving test................
I'm once again wiped out and this lady at the DVM that administers all the test literally has people in the "shakes" mode. I watched the guys in front of me fail and have to come back another day so by now it's almost 11:00 AM and still no sleep. My turn comes up, she tells me what to do, should be simple lol. All she wants me to do is pull the truck up, parallel park FIRST from this line she's standing on wayyyyyyyy in front of me. It's freezing cold outside windy and she's got this look that just gave me the chills on top of already being scared witless. Well, too late, I missed the directions clearly from being so nervous pulled right up in front of her and she's motioning like crazy for me to get back behind this line wayyyyyyyyy back there now. So, I shove it in reverse and fly backwards thinking to myself "oh man have I ever had it now, she's going to disqualify me for backing up that fast." I see the look on her face relax so this confuses me more, I pull up, parallel park and she gets in for our ride. I didn't know this at the time but my backing had actually helped my test. She even complimented me after the test was over!!!
I know several drivers that had to re-take parts of the test, and none of us went through a driving school so keep your chin up! You can do it!! -
P.S. I left out the most embarrassing part. I mean when I have test freeze I get it good! When doing the air brake test I began by pressing down the clutch instead of the brake for a second........................I still cannot believe I was that nervous, so if you can beat that one you'll have to share!!!

People freeze up on tests all the time, don't sweat it. That why you get three chances to take it, right?

If you study that booklet and test yourself before the test you should do fine.
