"Export" radios are marketed in the United States as 10 Meter Amateur transceivers. The marketing, importing and sale of such radios is illegal. It is also illegal to use these radios outside of the amateur radio bands by anyone in the USA as these radios are not type certified for the other radio services and usually exceed power limits.

The use of these radios within the amateur radio service by a licensed amateur radio operator within his/her privileges is legal as long as all amateur rules are followed.

Using radios outside their intended market can be dangerous as well as illegal.

i dont know why the 2510/2600 or the Magnum 257 are on that list. other than that, most of the radio list is correct.

At what point is enough enough? Just exactly how many times does this information need to be posted on this site? Anyone using these models for CB obviously do not care about your endless warnings. Combine this with the nonstop hijacking going on here where you ignore the original post and go off into talking about what models of ham rig you use and various other topics having nothing to do with CB or the original topic. In effect you all who do this have become nothing more than the worst advertising to any who might have desired to get into the hobby I have ever seen online. Not to mention the most ill mannered group I have ever encountered. You never stop threatening CB'ers with points of law and you never stop looking down at them with nothing but the worst disrespect and contempt for people who have a different hobby I have ever seen.

How many CB operating truck drivers have you driven away from this site and just exactly what is wrong with you spending your time on ham sites instead, seeing as how you show nothing but contempt for the people this forum was created for. The endless badgering and threatening with points of law of every CB'er who dares to bring up the subject of a radio model or amplifier you do not approve of is nothing more than showing contempt and disrespect for people who never once asked nor cared about your opinion on a subject they never brought up to begin with. If you are wondering what prompted me to write these words then know it was the fact that yet again someone saw the need to post a list of all the radios they despise and want turned in to the government as well as all those who dare to own one. Do you think it is not clearly obvious to anyone with an IQ higher than a banana that the reason all the hammers spend so much time on a CB site is their unending quest to find and punish as many as they can by desperately seeking ways to turn in the operators who use and the shops who deal with these models. Or is it the fact that your hobby is so boring and depressing you simply cannot find anything else to do with your time.

If a driver comes in asking for help wiring his echo, on the virtually nonexistent occasion someone actually tries to help the original poster cannot find it in the hundred or so other posts whining and complaining about how much you hate echo. Or in general whatever else it was being asked at the time. You say it with words and you show it with your choice of smileys showing disapproval and you never stop doing it on such a mass scale that I for one think you have turned this forum into the trash pit of online CB. I do not even come here all that often anymore because I am so sick of the attitude the hammers who have hijacked this entire forum have for the people the forum was intended for.

"The use of these radios within the amateur radio service by a licensed amateur radio operator within his/her privileges is legal as long as all amateur rules are followed."

Which in effect negates not a single thing I said in my previous post concerning the fact that as a ham operator you can create out of anything you find a station with which you can operate within the law. I will not even go into the illogical point that you state a ham operator can use these models if they somehow magically find one since they cannot be brought into the country to begin with.

Beyond post 157,953 of this badgering and endlessly repeating the fact that these models are illegal do you think it has been said enough times on this website? Are you all so mindless and lacking in memory that you forgot the other 157,952 times this was posted here before you made it
157,953 times? In effect you as a group have pushed this subject beyond any possible limits of reason to where it is nothing more than unending badgering and trashing the Truckers and CB'ers who this forum was actually created for.

"Using radios outside their intended market can be dangerous"

How? To who? In what way? Be specific and cite evidence to prove such a patently idiotic statement as if somehow this warning was put out by the Surgeon General. Are you saying they will receive brain damage from 11 meter radiation whereas upping the frequency 100 channels removes all detrimental effects to the waves emanating from their radios? Or is it they will go insane from the horror of knowing they are running 'out of band' and decide one day to go on a mad rampage?

I use my old stock Clear Channel Ranger AR-3500 on 10m all the time. Everyone tells me it sounds great with the Astatic 636L mic on it. I would have no problems with owning an RCI 2970N2 for 10m either...

They can't help it! I've often thought this is a Ham forum masquerading as a Trucker/CB forum!! Wouldn't it be great though if all those idiots we have been talking about in some of the other threads, i.e. too much echo, linears fired up in the parking lots, etc., would all go to Wal-Mart and buy the latest addition from Midland!!!! All because these guys warned them about those nasty ol' illegal CBs and linears!!!! If that was their intent, I might support them, sadly I don't think it is. Wait a minute, maybe that is their intent....not that the airways would be "cleaner", because I don't think most of the hammers on here spend that much time on CB anyway, heck, some of them aren't even truck drivers, but that would put all those CB shops out of business that a few of them are so worried about........(you know who you are!!!) Yeah, that's gotta be it! On here trolling for CB shops so they can make fraudulent complaints to the FCC and have them shut down or cause them problems! (you guys know that happens....denial will only make you look more guilty) Why else hang out on a CB forum? For truck drivers no less? And trash "truck drivin" radios at every chance!!! Am I on to something here........or maybe I just ate too much turkey!!! LOL (now watch them get all mad or defensive.......or totally ignore me........something to think about though............FWIW.

Wow cool my Galaxy 98VHP is not on the list. :biggrin_2559:

You know I would love to see a thread where you hambones kept your holier than thou crap to yourselves. Just once answer a question with out spouting FCC crap.
Find me an Export that can get on the Ham bands. 2 meter nope 6 meter nope 12 meter nope. And who the hell uses 10 meter anyway?
I know I don't, to much bleed over from 11 meters. Jeez y'all drive me nuts.

This is a truckers forum, not QRZ. ( which I am a member ) I am a trucker that loves my out law export radio, and my nasty dirty old class C pill box.
And I own a CB Radio Forum of which I know for a fact some of you are members of.

Now when I'm at home and feel like saying CQ, CQ, and using my call sign and using real ham radio's an tube amps I do.
Jeez it is a hobby for God sake lighten up. Have some fun. And quit hijacking threads with your
BS that no one here could give a rats rear end about anyway.

Well I feel better now, Y'all have a real nice day.

    Metalshadow and mike5511 Thank this.

None that I know of. Now I know I could really get you wound up and talk about the so called free band channels, like 26.915 that would be good for at least 3 paragraphs, but I wont. And you know me well enough to know I can an will jerk your chain all day for the fun of it. If y'all keep it up I'll bring Bear over here ( who is an Extra by the
way ) and a TRUCKER an a few others and make your life miserable for the fun of it.

I would have a lot more respect for y'all, if you used your knowledge an experience to help some of these guy's get a good sounding system together and not get ripped off by the Golden screw drivers who will clip the limiter and charge them $ 40 to ruin their radio.

But it looks like you would rather preach Regs than help someone.
You could help guy's learn our hobby and find out just how much fun it is to talk in DX land. And maybe just maybe they would think being a ticket holder would be cool and get theirs. But instead you wingnuts spout nothing use full, and turn everyone off to the idea of becoming one of those jerks.

Me I enjoy teaching folks that don't know a SWR from a PEP watt.

    mike5511 Thanks this.
