    Geez, Cornelius.

Not everybody on the road is out to get you or swearing you out when they flash their lights at you. To them, it might be them saying "by your leave" or some other politeness.

Often times, I will flash "thank you" to the car that let me in to pass you, while I am still in the hammer lane and getting ready to return to the Granny lane.

Stop looking for insults from everybody. Your blood pressure will go down if you realize most of the time, they aren't saying "f you."

    What???......

Geez, I must've figured out how to display emotion on here just by the words I type and and how I type them and didn't even know I knew how to do it.....

Lol..... I never said, implied or even thought everyone on the road was out to get me..... Although, I do drive for England and most people's mentality judges one by the company they drive for rather than the individual behind the wheel.

But in regards to the conversation at hand, it doesn't take a brain surgeon to, 90% of the time, know who is flashing the "thanks for nothing" flash.

That's awful late, isn't it? I mean, I see your point but when that happens to me, I thank the car who slowed down to let me over to pass a slower truck right as I get into the hammer lane, long before I've even began to overtake the truck or trucks I'm about to pass. I don't wait until I'm about to merge back into the Granny lane to thank the car for the courtesy. If I did, then I would be definitely sending the wrong signals to the wrong vehicle, especially if the truck I was passing didn't flash me back over.

Again, I'm not looking for insults from everyone.

As I said, its pretty easy to tell when you're getting the "thanks for nothing" flash..... Well, at least for me it is. I spose if you drive a 62 mile an hour truck as much as I have, getting passed by lots of trucks faster than you are, it don't take long for those "skills" to develop.

Im pretty sure yer just joking but I don't consider being "yelled" at for not flashing someone over as grounds for road rage.

Some people come to trucking because of an innate aversion to common sense and regard for others. You know the guys that park with their headlights on, they aren't using common sense and they have no regard for others. They are slack-minded slobs that are too lazy or too incompetent to operate a headlight switch. And no, the drivers I'm talking about are not saddled with DRLs. these are the full-power headlights.

Not flashing people (with your bright lights) should be considered polite. :biggrin_25525:

I use my brights during the day and flick my headlights off at night. And I get passed a whole hell of a lot.

I never flash unless it's a two lane road.
I hate those that use their brights.

Ah, Cornelius. You're a young man. The reason I wait until my pass is nearly complete is, I am also saying to the trucker, "By your leave." I had no idea anyone would take it in the manner you do.

And, you do remember whose authority I run under and whose logo besides my own is on my truck?

Do you think the passing truck can't see your dim lights?
