I went to work for this company for alittle over a month driving local well it didnt take long for me to realize something was wrong. like most drivers I watch my miles. when I started I was told I be getting .43 a mile and $25.00 pre stop. On Avg i was driving 2000 to 2200 a week and only bringing home alittle under 600 a week at first I thought it I made a mistake with my miles but turns out it wasn't. then I thought maybe payroll wasn't givin me my miles for the week that wasn't it. so I finally I found out what was going on I was only getting paid zip code to zip code for local to give an idea what that is like try working for 12 hours a day and only get paid for 8. I was driving 2000 to 2200 a week and only getting paid for 1400 to 1600 a week. well that week I cleaned out the truck and waved seeya. got my last check from them. I was charged 206.15 for a tire blow out I had on the trailer and 40.00 for the drug test. anyone thinking going to Jagim DON'T

Can you provide more specific details? First, where is this company located. Second, can you provide the breakout of how you calculated 2000 to 2200 miles and how "zip code to zip code" added up to 1400 to 1600 miles? That is a SIGNIFICANT discrepancy and I'd like to see actual miles vs. zip to zip miles.

Jagim transportion is out of Watsontown, Pa. Now how I tracked my miles is by the odometer from the start of the week to the end of the week. it was when I asked for my mileage for the weeks I worked is when I figured out what was going on. on how they figured out the mileage from zip to zip to be honest I really don't know. but what I do know is I don't drive for free for anyone...

I did a search from watsontown,Pa to allentown, zip to zip it came up with 117.4 miles for what I understand if a driver leaves from the yard. you don't do get paid until you get the next zip code.

Zip to zip is a good way for a company to make a few extra bucks on the driver's back, although this is the first I have ever heard about a local company doing it!!! If you made mulitple drops/picks in the same zip code you'd be screwed!!!

Can't figure why they charged you for a tire.... unless you curbed it bad or something????

They did the same thing with me. They told me I would get so much per mile. But I did not find out that it was zip code to zip code till I got my first check. If you look they are still looking for drivers and there is no mention they pay zip code to zip code. They also want you to drive more than your allowed hours and if you mention you are taking your mandatory 10 hour break they will get nasty with you most times. And they seem to run their company like crap. You seem to always be waiting for them to find you loads. you are sometimes sitting for hours. And a lot of the times when you get to a place for pick up or delivery the paper work is either wrong or was never faxed and you have to do more sitting and waiting. The owner and dispatcher are also very rude at times. So avoid this company, but if you do apply be cautious.

I talked to a good friend of mine who's been there 9+ years and he confirmed the zip to zip, but he's running OTR, not local and averaging $800 a week. But I just can't see a 400, not alone 600 mile difference a week, sounds a little high, if you're familiar with Williamsport, only maybe 7-10 miles in any direction to next zip code and I know Phoenix itself has at least 15 zip codes, Dallas, Tx has at least 40 zip codes, Philadelphia has about 10, etc., so not sure on the mileage difference you're getting?? Can check zips at http://www.zipmap.net and see if they owe you money depending on what part of town you had multiple stops ;)

Stay away unless you like paying for things that happen beyond your control. I've had fuel stolen and was charged
over $1500 for that. I had someone hit my mirror while I was sleeping. Charged over 300 for that. Stuck in mud that was another 300 for tow truck out of my pocket. He wants all the reward but any risk that dont go his way are your responsibility to pay for. Add in the fact that he pays well below the average its not worth it to work for this company. Oh ya and if u dont run illegal to make a delivery time he likes to deduct .03 per mile off your pay. Trust me those are only few of my experiences with him. I could share many more from other drivers. Best one I heard is that he made guy pay for truck damage when a deer ran out in front of him.

Sounds like you made the right decision and left to find somewhere better to work. Nothing worse than people whining about their job, yet still working there and feeling like the company owes it to them to change.

Best of luck in your search for a better gig, and if more people just moved on from these companies, they will either go out of business for lack of drivers to fulfill their contracts, or they will have to make changes to stay afloat.
