The recruiter told my husband who is a new driver that he would be home 2 -3 days per week and would be making around $1,000 per week. Once he went through all of the training and started working he was told that things have changed and that he will need to work 6 days per week. His highest paycheck has been $387 in a weeks time. He is told that he has a load ready and he drives out to the distribution center and sits there all day with no work which means no money. I would not recommend that anyone works for this company.

I have been writing about the woes a solo driver will experience at USX since 2007. They are not a good fit for a solo who wants to run even average miles constantly and legally. They are geared to the team driver and lease operator and a solo is just there to support those trucks.

And there is no way you are going to make a grand a week there as a solo with 2-3 days a week off. Unless it is a very special ded run or one that has you lumping your load every day and driving 500 miles with 10 stop offs.

he wants to try over the road instead of the dedicated route. not sure if it will be much better though. I don't understand why recruiters are allowed to lie. They mess with people's income and family life. I am in HR and I am so used to treating new hires with respect. I guess it is culture shock for me.

The moral of the story: Always know which car in the lot belongs to the recruiter

He should exhaust all lines of communication before quiting even opening new options like team driving if it means more miles...more money. If he signed any contracts dont quit you guys be worse than now they will want all the tuition money and wont think twice bout it. Good Luck.
