Seeing a post about one of our southern members going to ND gave me the idea for this thread.
Most of us from the north know how to deal with the cold, but hopefully this'll help the guys who've never had to work in it.

    MUST HAVES:

    • Waterproof Insulated Boots
    • High-performance long underwear
    • Insulated, moisture wicking socks
    • Full face covering headgear
    • Waterproof, insulated gloves (Always 2 pairs-- 1 on, the other under the heater)
    • Glove liners (I use thermastat brand)
    • Coveralls/ Bibs & coat (Most likely provided since everyone wears Nomex in the oilfield nowadays)
    • Heavyweight hoodie (helps keep drafts out of your neck)
    • I also like to have one of those flannel hoodies that's large enough to go over everything else. When it's snowing near freezing, it'll get wet and then freeze, protecting the rest of your gear from the moisture.

I can and do sometimes spend 3 or 4 hours at a time out in below zero weather, it's not that big a deal if your dressed for it. A real ***** if your not.

You guys throw in any tips/ suggestions that you use...
