To any one who wants to get started in the trucking buisness this is your warning . Do not and I mean Do not start with PAM they are the lowest paying outfit in the trucking buisness. You will find that they do not care about there drivers, nor do they care about when you want to get home they will waste your driving time . Have set for 3 days waiting on them to give me a load never know where you are going next til you are un loaded. Only get paid if the truck is moving . No pay for waiting 5 to6 hrs to get loaded or un loaded . They have at least 10 to 15 new students every week to take your place. After I went to C1 in Fortworth TX i was put with one of there trainers and he was a prick an a hole would stay up while I drove and then try to drive all night would have one wheel in the emergency lane or in the hammer lane all over the road texting on his phone tho I have herd worst stories from other students . Trainers pissing in jugs, not taking baths . wont stop to eat . just plane nasty . The only reason they became trainers was so they could get a new truck and get paid off the miles you drive. most of them shouldnt be training they are not teachers.

Judging by your ability to spell and form a proper sentence structure, you should probably also ##### about your elementary and middle school teachers. I would've included your high school teachers as well, but I doubt very much if you attended high school. Certainly the education system failed you or you are just too ignorant to care. Hmm..maybe that's the problem. I guess you didn't realize that trucking is a business. It's not all roses and smiley faces. Get a clue! Successful truck drivers understand the ups and downs of the business. Do you really think PAM wants their trucks sitting still? They don't get paid for parked trucks. Blame yourself for not working hard and for not understanding how the trucking industry works. Spend your time looking for a job you can do instead of telling everyone about the job you FAILED to do!

Funny this whole post leaves the reader with the same questions about you.

So your lesson here is simply to educate yourself, that way when you are getting ####ed you will enjoy it?

I suppose in the grand scheme youre probably right, after all its clear that you and the other mindless sheep are the majority now. Standing up for your rights or expressing negative feelings about a business angers the sheepole. Maybe its just best we all get back in line. Just like every other problem that exists in corporate and government we are to blame.

Back in line we go....this is the line for base jumping with the lemmings right?

Whatthetruck,Yea thats kinda what I said When I saw your reply.I can tell that you are the type of person that (Bends Over ) for companys like PAM and likes taking it that way. For your information I did my job verry well when I was at PAM I just wouldnt team drive . I am now employed with a much better company making more money and not sitting and waiting on a load . All my trips are pre planed and I dont have to team drive have no problem getting home when I need to. So why dont you do every one a big favor and SHUT THE TRUCK UP !!!!!!!!!!

I saw a lot of PAM trucks last weekend and met a really nice lady driver from PAM out on I-30 west in Arkansas.

I guess you gotta start someplace and if they have the market cornered and can hire young or out of school drivers for low pay and get away with it.

You know take that opportunity you are getting and use it as a stepping stone for your future. Be that driver who cares even if the company seems to suck.

About writing: I totally stink and I have a college degree (4 year) in a step up from basket weaving! I need to go and take a few english classes because I never really tried to become a better writer and it bothers me.

WHATTHETRUCK?? First of all you obviously are ignorant and stupid if you are still with PAM TRUCKING. What does this have to do with how to spell words....This site where drivers can come and make comments about companies they have experienced working for and informing other drivers before they make a big mistake taking a position there. Trucking industry is like a revolving door and somehow there is always a smart butt like you on these sites. So before you make a smart comment I think you need to know what your talking about and quit trying to make other seem like their dummies. U need to also take a look in the mirror, because you obviously are not a role model for truckers. So truckers don't listen or take this guys advice.

I'll give you this much. They do start guys out at a really low cpm and hometime has become a chore.

Here's where you start to fall apart. You have a phone? Use it. Call your DM and request a pre-plan. Simple as that.

Show me an OTR company that pays you by the hour and I'll be the first in line to sign up. Again, another one that didn't research enough.

Did you report this guy to your Fleet Manager? I'm guessing no. So just like everyone else, you can talk the talk, but not walk the walk. How about instead of coming on a messageboard and pissing and moaning to us you take some action there champ. I hope your attitude gets better.

You'll change your tune about these pretty quickly. Or realize trucking just isn't for you.

Something else we can agree on. It's a sad state of the business, but instead of doing your part and reporting your trainer to PAM, you just let it go. And you wonder why guys like that continue to train. Speak up dumb ###.

Yep this makes perfect sense...youre on a board called "the truckers report" but when someone comes on to "report" about a bad experience you take issue with it. You think the board exists if everyone just talks about how everything is super happy fun time with the company they work for? This is to keep people from making the same mistakes, and youre taking a pretty dangerous stance when you refute peoples claims without any consideration to how it happened the way it did. It only serves as a selling point to someone else who is considering the same path. I can only question why its so #### important to you? Why do you care so much about a company that couldnt care less about its employees? They dont train you (point to the CDL all you want, but I know first hand what goes on and unlike when I got my drivers license, I had no clue how to drive a truck), they dont pay you fairly, they dont tell the truth, and they sure as hell dont care. What motivation do they have to treat you any better? If you fail they file suit. Then they are awarded a judgement for a ridiculously large amount of money and then if your life isnt too bad their motion to discover will find out if they can make it a whole lot worse.

So no matter how smart, wise and tough YOU are its serves no benefit to talk down to others and stand behind a corporation that in no way intends to stand behind you...unless they are stealing your wallet.

I don't really see where he is 'defending' PAM. All I see are comments on what OP could have done to get things done more, things that I myself did when I worked at PAM and stuff got done...

And about "on a board called "the truckers report" but when someone comes on to "report" about a bad experience you take issue with it."...

looks to me like he was telling him to take issue with his complaints, not just come post about them. To actually DO something (or at least try), not just complain about it.
